Issue 131
As the most important treasure of humans, arts have been promoting the improvement of the society for thousands of years, from the ancient Egypt civilization to the Europe Renaissance, and even the high-speed developing world today. Even some times, the artwork only represents the artists’ incomprehensive ideas, the art, is still reveal the otherwise hidden ideas and impulse of a society in most cases, for most of the successful and influential artist are ones who have acute insight of the living condition and the strong society responsibility, which will showed in their works.

Admittedly, arts are derived from the normal life, but superior to it, which is the reason why arts could disclose some essence of the society in some ostensibly unrelated way, such as reveal the darkness of the society by painting. As we know, almost all the artwork, such like music, painting, literature, are all based on the creator’s fundamental life experience. So no matter what the artwork is, we can also find the realistic prototype in life which reveals the society hidden ideas at the standpoint of the artists. The famous Chinese tang poem is an apt illustration for this point. There is no doubt that the middle tang dynasty is one of the most powerful period of China, so from the poem that time, we can easily feel the beauty and leisure of the whole society, such as the poem of the idyll that time. But comparing with such poem of the later period, there is an extreme strong contradiction. With the society’s turbulence, poet inclined to show the people’s poor life and the cruel battle, disclosing the dark side of the government.

What’s more, the art was definitely not the copy of the real world. Before it can be called a real artwork, a work needs to be recreated by the artist for a long time, so the artworks can always contains the deeply thought of the social problems leading people to the answer of the further society problem. For example, the famous Russian writing “The Chameleon”, in which the writer lashing a man who is always changing his own position without considering any other people’s benefits, is a topical instance probing a society serious problem in a simple way. Thus, the art can do help the normal people know more about the conditions they lived in and help to perfect the society.

On the other hand, I admit that the art may not reveal the otherwise hidden ideas and impulse of a society all the time. Because not all the artist can present what they thought in an appropriate way all along, which is also an important facts that criticizes a work’s success or failures. So only those minority successful works meaningful in help the discovering of the essence behind.

All in all, as a subjective creation derived from the normal life, art is not too far to any one. What’s more, it also gives us a special view of the world. So, even though there are some uncertain facts, art is still a revolution of hidden ideas and impulse of a society which can help the better understanding and improvement of the world,
