TOPIC: ARGUMENT188 - A new report suggests that men and women experience pain very differently from one another, and that doctors should consider these differences when prescribing pain medications. When researchers administered the same dosage of kappa opioids-a painkiller-to 28 men and 20 women who were having their wisdom teeth extracted, the women reported feeling much less pain than the men, and the easing of pain lasted considerably longer in women. This research suggests that kappa opioids should be prescribed for women whenever pain medication is required, whereas men should be given other kinds of pain medication. In addition, researchers should reevaluate the effects of all medications on men versus women.

In this argument, the arguer concludes that kappa opioids should be prescribed for women whenever pain medication is required, whereas men should be given other kinds of pain medication. In addition, researchers should reevaluate the effects of all medications on men versus women. To substantiate this claim, the arguer provides new report suggests that men and women experience pain very differently from one another, and that doctors should consider these differences when prescribing pain medications, the arguer manifest that when researchers administered the same dosage of kappa opioids-a painkiller-to 28 men and 20 women who were having their wisdom teeth extracted, the women reported feeling much less pain than the men, and the easing of pain lasted considerably longer in women. At first glance, the argument might be somehow reasonable, but close scrutiny reveal that this argument is unconvincing.

In the first place, the arguer provides the fact that when researchers administered the same dosage of kappa opioids-a painkiller-to 28 men and 20 women who were having their wisdom teeth extracted, the women reported feeling much less pain than the men, and the easing of pain lasted considerably longer in women dose not support the claim that kappa opioids should be prescribed for women whenever pain medication is required, whereas men should be given other kinds of pain medication. It is absolutely possible the 20 women are much younger so need the quality is small, and when they are in the same age the women may report feeling much more pain than the men, and the easing of pain lasted considerably longer in men. Maybe, the men are every weak and have low liminal value of pain, if the men and women are in the same level in healthy the research must gain a reverse result. Without ruling out such possibility, I can not accept the arguer's point.

In the second place, the arguer provides the fact is insufficient to conclude that researchers should reevaluate the effects of all medications on men versus women. There is likelihood other medications have no difference for men and women although kappa opioids-a do have. Therefore, reevaluating the effects of all medications on men versus women is unreasonable and the argument is unconvincing.

In the third place, the study is unreasonable for support the conclusion. The sampler sample capacity is so small that it is weak in spots. Probably there is no distinction about the painkiller even we shall get proof to the contrary of the researcher. Thus, the argument cuts no ice.

To sum up, the arguer's conclusion about kappa opioids should be prescribed for women whenever pain medication is required, whereas men should be given other kinds of pain medication. In addition, researchers should reevaluate the effects of all medications on men versus women is not well supported as it stands. To bolster it, the arguer must provide more powerful evidence what mentioned above.
