I completely disagree with what the speaker asserts that the only responsibility of corporate executives, provided they stay within the law, is to make as much money as possible for their companies. As what I can concern, there are much more responsibilities that the coporate executives must take.
Admittedly, to make money for their companies is the corporate executives basic duty. The purpose for a company to hire an excellent executive is to make more money, since profits is all what corporates pursue in the economic realm. Without the ability to bring prifit to his company, an executive is unqualified. Only if the companies can survive in the competitive ecomonic market, can they practise what they should do as an individul in the world.
However, an executive is not only a part of his corporate, he is also living in a society as an individual. As a qualified citizen, much more responsibility are waiting for them.
To begin with, an executive apart from making profits for his company also has the responsibility to creat a well-found  working environment and coporate culture for his company. The importance of a good coporate culture laids on its unvisinable power to enforce the whole company to step forward. Only in a company with good culture, can all the employers be at the same line, corporate hamonily and show out thier best ability to serve for their company.There is no doubt that this kind of power is unconparable with other measurement.
Moreover, an executive have the resposibility to keep the ethic order of the society he lives. In order to make as much profits as possible, the executives should not do any thing disobey the basic ethic rules. Unfortunatly, in the real society, there are still many excytives who want to win much more profits by the way to go against the law and ethic. Just take the global shocking issue happened in China in 2008. A factory which produce the baby milk powder added a chemical substance which is bad for health in order to improve its percentage of protein contained in it. As a result, thousands of babies get sick because eating the milk powder, and hundreds of babies die from it. In this case , the executive of the Sanlu Corperate fail to exist his ability to maintain the ethic order of the society which leads to a concequance that can never be made up.
Last but not least, the executives who are in most cases richer than the ordinary people have the responsibility to help the ones who are starving to death and  who suffers from the bad health condition. As a matter of fact, there are so many people mainly in Africa, who do not have enough food to eat and have no access to the clear drinking water. As the hygiene condition there is too bad, many diseases such as ADIS are out of control. So the richers whose money is made from the marjority of the labors have the responsibility to help the poor. There are too typical heros that should many excutives to learn from. One is the the former richest people Bill Gate, the other is the famout star Agelina Julia. Bill give all his fortune to the poor,leaving no money at all to his offsprings. Although other executives do not necessarily give out all their properties, they shoud to some extent, give their hands to the poor. Julia is the woman who are beautiful not only for her apperance but also her heart. She adopted many poor children and go to Africa, India in person to give light to those people who live in despression.
To sum up, since corporate executives get more from the society, so they must take more resposibily as a repayment, either to the company they work for ,or to the society that survive them.
