TOPIC: ISSUE36 - "The greatness of individuals can be decided only by those who live after them, not by their contemporaries."

I cannot completely agree with author's opinion.From my own view,whether the greatness of individuals can be determined by their contemporaries or by their offsprings depends on different fields.
First of all,as for the art field,some art work,which bring entertainment and beauty to our society,can well accepted by the public.Through these forms of art can individuals learn wisdom and knowledge from it.Such as the most famous film "Avatar",a science fiction movie,give us a completely new feelings about the beatiful scenario and the romantic plot.For its revolutionary innovation,Avatar earn a highest box office earning,which well present the wide acceptance and appreciation for this film.On the contrary,some art works may be ruined for its advanced thoughts and insights.For instance,Van Gogh,one of the artists enjoying the worldwide reputation,was not accepted by critics and peers in that time.His thoughts and insights were ahead of time and therefore no one can understand him.He suffered poverty all his life,however,his art works were respected by the public little by little after his death.And now his works,such as sunflower,are considered the priceless classic in the art world.
In addition,the scitific field also have huge differences between the disciplines.On the one hand,as for the applied science,which devise machines and technology for the development of our society,can immediately applied to various fields of our daily life.As a consequence,devision in this field was appreciated by the contemporaries for their huge contribution.Make steam engine for an example.Steam engine,which was invented in the late ninteenth
century,greatly boost the progress and maturity of industrialization.Consequently ,the contemporaries appreciate its greatness.On the other hand,as to the pure science,which conduct the fundamental research and prove general theory,its greatness will not always be appreciated by the contemporaries for the revolutionary thoughts.For instance,the polish astronomer Copernicus,who put forward the theroy that the earth revolves around the sun,was arrested and accused for his disagreement with the leading theory that the sun revolves around the earth in that time.As time passing by ,the Copernicus's thory was gradually accepted by the public and respected as the accepted truth.
To sum up,whether peers or offsprings accept the greatness of the work determined by the function and the discipline.
考虑到考试时要列提纲，想思路，自己将时间除去了5分钟，40分钟内完成了这样的一篇文章，自己只想到了两段的展开，不知如何再写第三段于是草草结尾！还想请教一下，如何能使每一段能够展开的更好一点或者是字数能够多点，第一次发习作帖，请各位gter多多指教！
