As the most common method that is used to evaluate the students when only one of them can not obviously accomplish some definite big tasks all by himself or herself, professors and advisors have been adopted to group the students and give the whole group a same mark or grade to evaluate them. It may convenient the teachers and seems to be very equal and appropriate since the score depends on the performance of the whole group which is directly made of the every group members. But I still persist that this is not a perfect method and personally do not approve it.

First of all, I admit that when study assignments or research papers happen to be very complex or numerous, the college students have no way to solve it but  to get help from the power of collective, and reasonable division of tasks could certainly bring fantastic effort. All people have their advantages and shortcomings, if we can use this to get all the advantages together----right person to do the right part----our assignments could be definitely completed with efficiency and excellent quality. But what if we can not properly estimate everyone? What if we use the wrong member to do something he is not actually good at? The result is obvious, as we could not maximize the benefits of teamwork and may even make things worse but this bad output can hardly represent our actual ability in this circumstance.

What is more is that we can not get our capabilities improved even if we have done the right diversion of labor. As a case in point, if I am asked to do something all by my own, I will have to search information, design my style of format, input every word, add and delete and so forth all by myself. But if I choose to work in a team, I will possibly be assigned to do only one step of them and always do this part because I might be skilled and talented in this. I will not have chance to try the others and if this assignment is given a high grade to evaluate myself, that only represents a superior side not an overall estimation.

And the last also the most crucial reason for my opinion is what this method of evaluation often gives---same grades---seems to be but actually not equal at all. Lazy and lousy students could make use of this method to get a higher gain even though they have not strived hard to go for it while the outstanding ones may get a average grade that is not suit for their hard effort. Thus this method has lost its meaning absolutely.
