The speaker asserts the necessities to establish a global university to solve the world's most persistent social problems.I agree that a global university could accelerate the pace of the global problem solving.Nevertheless,we also face some risks to function such a global university well enough to achieve its original purpose.

The global social problems relate to every nation's interest and only with every nation's effort ca they be solved. Taking the depletion of atmospheric ozone for example,it is mostly caused by the ozone-layer-unfriendly gas emitted from all over the world and it threatens every survival human being,animals and plants every corner on earth.Even there is just one country still use CFCs as freezer it is not safe for our ozone layer.Hence,we should share our technology to find the substitute as soon as possible. Also we are learning the financial crisis the world is suffering.The fact US dollar serves as the world-wide reserved currency leads the close connection between economic situation and policies carried out by the US government.While the recovery of the US economy depends on other countries's measures aiming home and abroad such as China.In this case every nation is supposed to negotiate a way out of trouble together rather than only value their own interest.Evidently all these communication and cooperation can be facilitated by a global university which educate and specialize people global perspective to solve the issues we are facing.

Nevertheless,the establishment of a global university confronts some problems in order to accomplish its objectives.Firstly,the resource of the fund may affect the administration of the university.The undeveloped countries which is not capable to contribute a lot in financial respect are possible to lose the assurance for their interest.The injustice would impair the cooperation and could cause the decline of the university in long term.Secondly,the variety of language and cultural background inevitably impede the communication of the students.It would take them a long time adapt to the classmates they live with and the teachers they learn from.This problem also exists in the faculty and the management of university.

To sum up,based on the severity and emergency of the global social problems,the world-wide cooperation is undeniable and a global university makes good sense.However,the obstacle during the establishment of a global university need time to overcome which is related to the thorough understanding of global interest etc.In this case we should first take measures to enforce the cooperation among nations before a global university is available.such as easier passport for professors,more conformation sharing,high frequency for pesidents' negotiation,etc.
