Do you agree or disagree with the following statement:
It's better for children to choose jobs that are similar to their parents' jobs.
Nowadays, a hot and important controversy centering on the scope of choosing jobs concerns whether it is better for children to choose jobs that are simialr to their parents's jobs. While a fair proporiton of people support this idea, contending that parents will help them a lot in the same filed which can help the student advance easily, others, hold the opposite opinion. As far as I am concerned, I side with the former one, among the countless reasons and facts which support my viewpoint, I will list the most conspicous and consequential ones here.
The majoy reason for my propensity to the view that it is beneficial to childen when they chose jobs that are similar to their parents lays in the fact that parents can give constructive suggestions to their children when they come across difficulties and even meet setbacks. This reason is easily understood that our parents are people who have been working in this field for many years, they are quite familiar with their working circurstances and they know what the development trendecny is in this indusry as well as what the foundamental knowledge is to obtain a good position or a promising success. Therefore, basically, under the suggestions and directions from our parents, we can avoid many sinous paths, and can easilly achieve a good level in this particular field at a very young age.Let's bring our discussion to a more concrete and practical context, for instance, my university classmate Shen Xin follows his father instruction to dedicate himself to his father's own company after graduation, now Shen is a senior manager in his father company and has reached some fabulous achievenment, which bring a huge sum of money to the company.
Anther equally essential reason why I advocate the importance for student to choose jobs similar to their parents is that this choice can enhance the relationship inside the family. One example to illustrate this point is that some parents were not able to realize their own dreams during their lifetime and always hope their children could go on to carry out the same dream and finally achieve the ultimate goal, and if children follow their parents's instructions to fulfill the old genration's dreams, it means a great love to them which will help to create a hamonious environment inside the family.
Admittedly, despite the various meirts of choosing jos fllowing parents's footsteps, it also has some undenaible drawbacks. An obvious one is that overextended emphasis on this issue will limit the children choices scope, which may not be the best way for children to develop more succfully in the future. More specifically, suppose a child is very clever and is more suitable to dedicate himself to a scientific field, and he himself also tend to show great interests to math, while, his parents are both farmers, they hope the child can go on to cultivate more plants when he grows up, which contridicts the god's will. however, this special case is really trivial and are too week to detriment my view.
In conclusion, after considering the pros and cons of the issue, we have found that the merits of choosing a job following parents' footsteps outweighs the its downsides. Thus, we may safely come to the conlcusion that it is better for children to choose a job similar to their parents's. |
