Nowadays, food has become easier to prepare. Has this change improved the way people live?
Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer


Indeed, food nowadays is found much easier to prepare, as opposed to the old days, people now are less likely get into trouble for starvation. However, this, to some degree, doesn’t improve the way people live. The reasons for this are not far to seek.

First, a growing number of people in most areas all over the world now have problems not in the deficiency of food, on the contrary, in overeating. Why is that? It is because of the better availability of food that people who suffered hunger in the past now have chance to realize their earlier simple dream: just to have good food to eat. Then the phenomena are easy to found: regardless of their health, people eat and drink merely to satisfy their mouths, their tastes, thus they eat whatever taste delicious, yet let the nutritious constitution and quantity alone, getting a growing number of digestive illness. To live in this kind of way really brings detrimental effect to people’s health, so to this degree people haven’t improve the way they live.

Second, apart from food, people now tend to have far more things to pursue, such as knowledge, art, belief and harmoniousness with nature. Just as the saying, ”we eat to live, but not live to eat.” Not only distinct foods can improve our liveway, we can also do it by learning more knowledge from a number of volumes so as to have a better understanding of life, by listening to a diversity of music even try to play some instruments so that we can have an elegant quality of life, besides, by eating more organically grown food so that the soil and water are less likely to be polluted by chemical fertilizers. In a word, all these ways are effective to enhance the way we live.

All in all, the fact that food now is easier to prepare, in my opinion, doesn’t mean that the way we live will improve accordingly. To achieve this goal, we’d better have some temperament on food to improve our health as well as have some spiritual content in our life.

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?
Always telling the truth is the most important consideration in any relationship between people.
There are various personalities worth thinking of when get along with others such as intelligence, sincerity and honesty. To say which is the best is very difficult and subjective. But when asking about my opinion, I, without any doubt, hold that to tell the truth is the most significant consideration in any relationship between people.

The reasons for this are not far to seek.

A very classical but interesting old Chinese fable can prove my idea well. Long ago, a little boy who was very naughty lived in a village with his kind neighbors. One day when shepherding his sheep, something amusing occurred to his mind, that is he decided to trick his neighbors a little. So he cried, "Help, help! A wolf is coming!" Soon after, his neighbors came to help him. Then they found themselves being joked. certainly they got angry, but they didn't say something to the boy for he was too young. Again, when the boy was out with his sheep, he cried loudly that is seemed like he really got trouble. When the neighbors arrived, they found it was still a joke. They were seriously annoyed. Finally, once the boy encountered a real wolf, however loud he cried, no one would come to save him. As a result, this indicates how severe the consequence is if honesty is absent.

Additionally, when a parent performs the policy of honesty, his children will get more security for they see how their father gives them a world full of truth, without deception and lies, when a  worker performs  the policy of honesty, his boss and co-workers is more likely to trust him, in this case he will be given more vital tasks owing to his honesty; and when a spouse performs the policy of honesty, he/she gives his/her lover the promise which helps consolidate the love between them.

In a word, always telling the truth is the most important consideration in any relationship between people considering the merits and demerits.

The lecture argues that the work in the team situation doesn't prove the advantages as in the reading.However,the reading passage condends that  having a team of people working together can be advantageosu. The lecture casts doubt on the reading passage.

The first point the speaker uses to cast doubt on the reading is that the attitudes of workers to team are on the contrary to those prediced in the passage. According to the lecture, the team with better resuots are those who regard their group as a whole, not the named ones who have insight to issues and problems.  It differs from the passage in that what the passage indicates is that the vatiety ken of the involved people would enlarge the team's effectiveness better than anyone alone

Another point the professor uses to challenge the passage is that  the workers are not likely to have a faster speed in the team than alone.He claims that  it really takes a long time for them to achieve a final agreement on how to continue the project for the must have a lot of meetings to discuss.However, the passage states that the team as a whole will work quickly because the team bear responsibility for the decision to all the members.

Finally, the lecture raises the issue that the members won't feel rewarding when working as a team. The reason for it is that  when several influential individuals oppose an idea,then most members will drop it,neglecting its further discussion. On the other hand, when the influential ones regard  an opinion as creative, then the most will agree with it regardless of someone's warn that the project may not work.The reading disagrees with it because what the reading demonstrates it that individuals have a better chance to develop their own ability.

In a word,the points in the lecture contrast with the reading passage.
