The author claims that book is not as important as it once was because of television’s appearance. While I agree that television is a useful and important way to learn, in my view it would be a mistake to ignore the advantage of book and negate its value.

It is true that television is a popular approach to learn nowadays because it provides various approaches to us and makes the information more visual and comprehensible. Television provides us with a rich and colorful world, which we never find only in book, and makes our lives more happy. For example, children who still study in the school are fond of watching TV very much. Another example is that television is used in remote education, which let people who are not in school share school’s resource.

Yet in most cases book is always an important form of learning. On one hand, book is the best way to express the theories and formulas systemic, especially science. For example, if a scientist advocates a new theory, he will write a book or a paper but not use the television. Book can express theory more comprehensively by using various tools, such as words, chart and so on. On the other hand, book can hold the author’s original mean at all. That is an important reason to why people like to use book to transmit the knowledge generation to generation. Today we realize the circumstance and events which happened before by reading the books which written before.

Secondly, different people who read the same book will have the different views to its content. Every book will give a broad space to people to imagine, which is not like the television. For instance, if we read a story, we all usually have our own realizations to the story and have our own imaginations about the story, also imagine different dramatics personae in our brain. Television just reflect some people’s views who direct the movie, and the audience just have to accept it at all. For example, when we go to see a movie, we only find the thoughts what the director wants to express. Though we have any other different ones, we just have to accept it.

In sum, no matter how fast the society develop and no matter how large change exist in our daily life, reading book is always an important way to learn, forever.
