When referring to the assertion that any profession should step down after five years to guarantee the successful for any enterprise by revitalize through new leadership. From my perspective, I agree with this assertion.
History has told us profession in power never changes will cause problems. Because some methods seem effective at the beginning, while cannot used in later development. For instance, when China suffered in feudal past, monarchs did not easily changed, and most of them control China through his lives. Qianlong, a monarch in Qing dynasty, did well at his early time, at that time the finance was growing every year, but after China grew at the high time, Qianlong began to satisfy with his achievements made China fallen down at the end of his life. Also, never step down mechanism may result the leader self-satisfied. Once the leader steps on his or her profession, he or she never worries to get down, so he or she may not step in anymore. Taking Qianlong as an example again, because of he never worried to step down, he did not developed his country in his later life anymore, so the whole country fallen down are resulted.
Contrary to what I discussed above, a profession in power step down can make the surest path to success for any enterprise. One aspect is new leadership may bring new believes and manage method, then this enterprise would likely to reform which means to develop the advantage aspects and changed the disadvantage aspects. For example, our college leader was changed last year, the new leader came into power and reformed our college`s rules. In these new rules, more opportunities of internship are increasing more books in library are selected. Through these new rules our college students will improve by these internships and learnt much from these new books. It is be certificated as a successful management. Another advantage is the new leader need to improve him or her after leading this profession. If they effort little during their leading time, they will unlikely to be chosen in next time. It is easily to find examples that our government officers, teachers and mangers in firms work so hard in order to be selected in next season.
But, although those in power step down is a good mechanism for any enterprise, the surest path to success will depend on the time. Five years is the most probable time for it. Because if a time short for five years, the new leader`s effort is hardly to measure. Some measures may effective after few years, so step down too fast for them cannot make sure these measures` effective. To suppose that a mayor just make an economic measure to develop the city`s economic, this new measure will effective after five years, but unlucky the mayor steps down before five years, and new mayor abolished this measure since he or she do not think it is effective and took new measure he seem right but actually wrong. Then the economic may not go up in time. So, too short time for stepping down may cause problem. Contrary to it, too long time after five years, old leader`s measure may fall behind and thus result the enterprise unsuccessful or not success than that of five years.
After discussing above, the surest path to success for any enterprise is those in power should step down after five years for it not too long or too short for revitalization though new leadership. |
