Unfortunately, in contemporary society, creating an appealing image has become more important than the reality or truth behind that image.
      After the close ceremony of the London Olympics, people are getting back to their lives with less passion of the sports. We cannot deny that majority of people do have some exercise to keep in good health. However, for some of the people, they only tried to set up a new plan for doing exercise when they watch the Ryan Lochte swimming or Usian Bolt running. When the game is over, they totally forgot about their new plans and went to sleep or continued to watch the late night TV shows. That is actually reflecting a truth that people are paying more attention to the fabulous image or results rather than the reality behind the image, which is that athletes were practicing many hours per week and nearly have no time for social life.
     In the recent years, with the development of technologies and bombast of visual images from Internet everyday, some teenagers seems to have a fallacy of path to success. For instance, when those basketball players posting the photos of having fun with teammates on twitter, the followers would think that if I am a celebrity, I might have a much better living. It seems a true statement. But, what they ignored is that they are practicing so much in earlier days. As the saying goes, "no pains, no gains."
     Back to the Olympic games, when the game starts, there was so many controversies. Take the suspicious dosing case of Ye Shiwen, a Chinese swimmer, as a example. The media from all over the world is continuously saying that it is impossible for a sixteen yearsold teenager to swim faster than Lochte in the last 25 meters. After a few days, some people did a research and found that in the past two years, there are so many swimmers improved more than 7 seconds. As the media, some agency should tell people with the truth and reality, are actually telling people some fallacy, which is just based on the appealing image. What a sadness for the society.
        When we talk about the society, we always talk about the teenagers, who are the future of our generation. As for this issue, appealing image is being more and more emphasized, the teenagers are influencing by the media, who suspect people cheating on competition rather than believe their hard working after the image.
        It is really sad to draw the conclusion that people today only focus on the fabulous appealing and forgot the basic hard working of the others. And this fallacy is affecting more and more people to believe that they can success without the truth after the image--diligence.

16) Some people believe that in order to be effective, political leaders must yield to public opinion and abandon principle for the sake of compromise. Others believe that the most essential quality of an effective leader is the ability to remain consistently committed to particular principles and objectives.
Write a response in which you discuss which view more closely aligns with your own position and explain your reasoning for the position you take. In developing and supporting your position, you should address both of the views presented.




Leaders, who usually represent the whole groups' major decision and opinions to certain issue, are sometimes hard to satisfy people from both side.  When it comes to the controversy that whether a leader should abandon principle to a certain point of compromise, general public have extremely polar ideas.
As we all know, that in western society, take Unites States, as a example, we have the theory of Elites, a decision making style. For this certain decision making style, people with some particular political or social source will make their voice being heard and benefit most.  This is a simple example that we have some stylized model for decision making that at some point that the leader, was actually taking the advice for the people with most sources and make decision under the norms.  Which means that we already are quite accustomed to the effective leaders that remain consistently committed to particular principles and objectives.
It is an interesting question for this issue that how could people know that public opinion is right for some certain issue?  For instance, for most countries, they have more than two parties and legislation system. When they are making the a new regulation for an issue, people debate some violently.  Here we came the problem. During the debate process, it takes so long for the regulation come out. Some people might argue that, if we are in a country like North Korea, we don't even need to think about those factors that involved in this issue. Since every single problem is actually complicated, none of us will never know whether the public opinion is right.  In this case, a decosion which is based on the consistence of particular principle is quite reliable.
In addition, effective leader is not a time-saving leader, but a leader who can benefit the group or society most. For example, if the so called effective leader omit the sake of compromise and forgot the profit for the minority, which is regarded outside the "public",  that is not quite fair.  
In sum, for effective leaders, based on the belief that "everyone are equal and have the rights to pursue happiness", they should remain consistently committed to particular principle and objectives before making decision.

There is always a heated discussion that whether people should come down after a certain years in power.  Power, which is something that everybody wants, should not be centralized in "somebody's" hand for a long time. It is reasonable that regulations and laws in some academic association and in government ruled that the heads have to come down after definite years in power.
I totally agree with the given reason why the heads should abdicate, which said that new leadership can activate the enterprise. First of all, usually the new leaders have the hand on experience of some aspects in their area. That is why they are chosen to be the leaders. But in five years, with less time to gain the outside experience, they are

Education for students before they enter college is very important. It is during that period that students gain the most valid knowledge for all kinds of subjects in their lifetime. After the students entered college, usually they became more focused on one of the branches that they are most interested in. However, another factor for whether we should approve the statement is also very influential, which is the quality of the national curriculum.
      First of all, during the most important developing stage for the students, it is the high time for them to get more balanced education. For the same national curriculum, students get the opportunity to learn the required various knowledge, which is very beneficial for their future development. It is quite fair for students from different states and cities can have the same background. The policy can also favorable students to apply for college.  Basic on the same national curriculum requirement, the only thing for the admission office would be evaluate their SAT score and other activities. From this angle, it will not only make contribution to the education, but also helps the education selection system being more complete.
     Second, students before they enter college, they are not very aware what will make a huge difference in their life in future. At this time, if they are not interested in one of the education program, they can quit and find their favorable program and go more detailed. However, this is not very good for students to get more balanced education, which might includes both science and social science.  If the policy is carried out, the students have to force themselves to learn something that they will never learn if they are not required to do so. This is quite helpful for them to get more balanced education.
     However, if the national curriculum is not as good as we thought, they might limit the development of students. To make sure the students can obtain the most suitable education, a nation should have a complete education evaluate system to design the most qualified nation curriculum.
     In sum, after taking all the factors into consideration, I agree the statement for the general. But at the same time, we should make that the national curriculum is good for every students' development in future.
