As is known to all, great thinkers and great artists need to think and create in a way that is different from the normal one to make the independent ideas and fantastic art works. And we admire the originality from these creators. But the public sometimes couldn't tolerate the political leaders’ opinion and naturally think that these people just set up the institution for their own profits. However, I disagree with this kind of idea for the political leaders also need to make solutions to the problems irregularly in order to serve the pubic better. So it is not a wise idea to ask the political to yield public opinion and abandon principle all the time for the sake of compromise.

To start with, the function of the political leader is to make a fair policy which may thrive the society and lead the public to live a comfortable and stable life. And since the public vote for the leaders, they also should respect them and follow the right policy set up from them. Because the political leaders are those people who have the outstanding political vision and are able to make the right decision for the public, whereas the public are sometimes short sighted and couldn't observe things from the whole size. Suppose all the people have different ideas towards a same serious problem, how could the political leader make a right decision in a sharp time if he is eager to yield to all the public opinion? Apparently, this kind of compromise is superficial and may lead to a national crisis. For instance, a war is just going to break out, and the political leader has to make a decision whether to fight or not. The public may hold different ideas towards the emergency. Some may disagree to fight for they are afraid of the injuries and deaths. Some may argue to start the war at once for their nation's honor. And others may want the government to take a gamble to have a discussion with the enemy. If the political leader abandon the principle and listen to these ideas, he or she may feel confused and couldn't make a wise decision. The result may be that, the country lose the chance to survive during the time that the leader decide which stream of the public should he or she follow. Thus, public shouldn't always ask the leaders to yield to their opinion and abandon principle. Because the duty for the leaders is to lead the public not only to compromise.

Of course, the reason why political leaders shouldn't always follow the public opinion is not only because the public hold too many opinion but also because sometimes the public's ideas are somewhat superficial. Anyone knows that the tundra plate Alaska which was bought by the USA using a large amount of money used to be a really cold desert place where there was no resident at all. When Lincoln made the policy to buy it from Russia, all the public are angry with him and think that the government is wasting the nation's money. However, the policy that made by Lincoln to purchase this state appears to be wise and admired by the public for the military purposes and the ample natural resource recent years. Therefore, we public should trust the political leaders and follow their opinion for they are far-sighted.

In conclusion, the responsibility for the political leader is to make decision and solve the problem for the public. For compromising doesn’t work when making a final political decision, the leader should stick to the principles and carry the wise policy out. As mentioned above, the most effective political leaders should consider the need of the public and then make policies according to the principles.
