任何领域要取得重大进展，都需要外领域者的知识和经验。

Key words: study, advance, outsiders

Do all field of study need do to combine other field of study to successes significantly, as the speaker asserts? In a sense, I tend to agree that the knowledge and experience cannot be separated from others. The living world is so sophisticated that none of the field is independent. This contention accords with history case and our everyday experience as human beings. However, there seems full of exceptional examples to opposite this conclusion that this contention is not able to apply to all situations. In my point of view, both insiders and outsiders knowledge and experience can make the specific field advanced.

To begin with, when retrospect to the long history, we may take many examples to support such contention.
In 1932, the first electron microscope was invented by Ruska in German. With the help of this excellent invention, researches in biology turn from macroscopic to microscopic. Scientist can even research how cells work, how they connected and what’s the function of them. Hence, many cell diseases can be cured by gaining the knowledge from the cell research, people can live longer and healthier. Impute this big success to the development of electron microscope which makes the observation in microscopic biology possible. Therefore, study in one field should collaborate with outside knowledge and experience to achieve new development and important discoveries.

Furthermore, the whole word is unity, so no one can separate them clearly. The definitions of law in every field are combined, just like the symbiosis, a cooperative relationship, like nitrogen-fixing bacteria and legumes. Almost every field of subject is connecting with others essentially. So when a problem occurs, scientists should search not just one solution to the problem but look for more variety solutions. Take the species extinction for example. To prevent the extinction of species, the government may establish a special protection law for the animals to forbid the over hunting and slaughter. The animal scientists may do research to the specie and then do artificial incubation in order to enlarge the population of the specie. And environmentalists may appeal to populace for protecting the inhabitation of the specie and the aware of environmental protection. Different subjects bring different perspectives to solve one same problem and the different perspectives facilitate the process of searching the solutions.

But, I cannot concede that not all expertise from outsiders can bring significantly advance. And sometimes, the knowledge and experience from outsiders could not bring advance but harm. The outsiders may make the study more complicate that inhibit the process of advancing. For instance, the in-depth study in theoretical mathematic and physic are the exceptional. All these are the basic of other subjects so they depend on themselves empirical observation. Oftentimes, if they collaborate with too many other subjects, they will become too sophisticated to establish a model of a theory. This is the first exceptional and the other is, some dramatic discoveries or developments happen merely by casual. A famous example which is frequently quoted is Wegner who got the inspiration of continental drift when he was so ill that he only can stay in bed in front of a world map that he watched every day. Or we may also consider Kekule who find out the structure of Benzene is a ring just due to a dream.

To sum up, I strongly agree that no field of study can achieve without applying other knowledge in other field. The natural is so intricate that we cannot tell which subject can be separated from others. So we may success until we understand these intricate relationships. However, the advance might be minor instead of significantly, means that even a small advanced step requires sophisticated knowledge from outsiders in that every field of knowledge is related.
