As the development of technology, human beings now save a lot of timefrom doing housework such as cooking and cloth washing. In theworkplace, the existence of information technology also help us toincrease our productivity. So will people have more time from now thanbefore? Although the answers seems to be clear, people can not arriveat an agreement due to their different background and conflictingvaluse. In my opinion, people will not have more leisure time.- y- U1 H& G5 o* z. y4 P7 z

The mainreason of my conclusion is that though people save a lot of time insome fields such as housework or documentation process, at the mean time they have farmore work now than before. The problem we facing now is growing moreand more complex while the competition is becoming more and more fiercebecause of the development of technology(Along with the development of technology, we are confronting with more complexed problems as well as more fireced competition 不是很理解这句,不知道给你改的对不对). Today, a middle company cantake complete a project that only could be operated by those giantcompanies such as IBM. In order to win the edge, people have to workharder and longer. For example, the average work time of modernsoftware programmer is half more than that of a software programmer 20years ago. The increase of work efficiency squeezes people's leisure time.
$ M" f* m4 \- `0 O+ C; D
Furthermore, just as the competition drives people to work harder, so doesthe competition force people to make better use of any second of their time.In the modern society, everyone worries about losing his job. Peopleare afraid of being replaced by someone else. Besides working hard inthe work place, they have to learn the latest knowledge to update theirbrain(不太清楚这个说法对不对). Seldom can I find people cozily enjoy their leisure time aroundme. Tom, one of my best friend who is a department manager in a bigcompany, spends spare time in a MBA course, although he usually work 12hours a day. Like Tom, people all over the world exploit every secondof their time to keep competent.3 z7 Z4 G$ Y3 K/ [6 f" T" F

Althoughsome inventions have brought us a lot of convenience, we still have tolearn how to use them. Moreover, the increase of the complexity of theoperation of these machines makes us to spend more time in using them. Some researches have indicated that the whole time housewives used inhousework seldom reduces comparing to 20 years ago.7 V$ [( d. }6 B, B

To sum up,the convenience brought by new technology convinced some one thatpeople from now will have more leisure time, however, taking intoaccount all factors, people do not have to go very far to see thathardly will people have more leisuretime from now.

As the development of technology, today people can achieve news from various media, such as newspaper or television. Unlike newspaper, which uses(用use形容proportion啊?) a lot of proportion to talk about world event, news is not the concentration of most television channel. News related programs only take a little part of all the television programs. Can we say that we should get our news from news paper if we want to truly understand world event? This question is so controversial that different people hold different answers due to their different background and conflicting values. However, in my opinion, we can learn more about world event from television than from newspaper.(前面的篇幅怎么读起来像在扁电视?然后后面又说关注大事应该看电视,感觉有点矛盾。)

First of all, unlike the news in newspaper, that in television is more impressive and more easily to understand. Because of the limitation of newspaper, people can not watch but read it.(这句话说的有点奇怪) What make it worse is that it usually costs editors a lot of space to describe something that people are not familiar with while the total space of newspaper is limited. Thus sometimes people will complaint that newspaper is difficult to understand. On the other hand, television does not have this problem. People can see what happened by their own eyes. For example, people will have little image of assembly line when they know it from news paper. However, if they see a real assembly line in television, few people will forget it.
(观点很好啊,但是例子举的感觉有点不太切合主题))

Furthermore, people usually watch the latest on television , just because it takes newspaper a lot of time to be published. Editors often need half a day to complete a whole newspaper while it only takes their counterparts less than an hour to finish a television news.(我个人总觉得电视节目的制作时间更长) We can watch what happened an hour before the air of the television news program. But if we want to find the same news from newspaper, we have to wait until tomorrow. What is more, we can know what is happening now from television while newspaper can only tell us what has happened.(这一段缺少例子支持哦)

Finally, the advent of special news channel gives those who like news a good alternative of newspaper. There are television news channels in nearly every country, such as Fox News. These channels focus on what happen all over the world. People can get everything they want from them. Nevertheless, if someone wants to know all world‘s news, he might have to buy piles of newspaper. In the contrast, a television is enough if he turns to those news channels. This advantage attracts many readers of newspaper. For instance, many people who had the habit of reading newspaper in the road to work now choose to watch the morning news instead.(这个例子说服力也不强,没有数据,觉得是你自己说的)8 R( V  I0 F' C/ P" v1 i
3 ?) y2 z! n# B- L- P2 ~

To sum up, as more advanced media, television has many advantages over newspaper. Taking into account all the factors, people do not have to go very far to see that television is the better choice if we want to truly understand world event.

我觉得这个题目本来就不好写。
你的写作功底还是不错,向你学习了。
具体内容见仁见智,其实也不必太在意。

10.20  People will spend less time in cooking and preparing food in 20 years
later. Do you agree or disagree?

As technology develops, more and more machines are sharing our work not only
in workplace but also at home. Washing machine makes it unnecessary for us to
wash clothes any more while advanced cookers save us a lot of time in
cooking. In the same time, the advent of instant food also make it possible
for us to have meal in a short time. Will people spend less time in cooking
and preparing food in 20 years later? This question is so controversial that
different people will have different answers due to their different
background and conflicting values. In my opinion, peoeple will not spend
less time in making food.

There is no deny that machines in our kitchens do save us a lot of time. If
people aptly use those machines, they can help us to make a meal in a short
time. However, just like a double-edged sword, those machines drive us to
spend more time in learning how to using them. If I have 6 machines in my
kitchen, I have to remember 6 different kinds of operation. What makes it
worse is that the increasing functions of machines make it more difficult to
remember their operation clearly. For example, my microwave oven has tens of
functions while its manual has more than 200 pages. Seldom does my mother
use it because she can not remeber how to use it. Facing this problem, many
people, especially elder people who does not have a good memory, turn to old
style cooking.

Furthermore, people can make a dinner in quite a short time and instant food
also bring much convenience, but this convenience bases on the price of the
lost of tasty and nutrient. Most people today realized that it will take
times if them want to make food delicious and nutrient. Thus they return to
the old style cooking, by which even with the help of advanced technology,
people can not spend less time. For instance, people in some region of China
like cooking soup for a long time-usually over 5 hours. Because they think
that only by long time cooking can make sure the flavor and nourishment of
soup. More and more people begin to agree with that opinion. After all, most
people like delicious nutritious food.

Another reason we have to consider here is that today more and more people
regard food preparation as joy rather than a task. Facing increasing work
pressure, people nowadays intend to spend more time with their families to relax. Kitchen is a good place for couples to enjoy the joy together, because
while doing the cooking people can cooperate with others and enjoy the time freely. Consequently, it is not likely for people to reduce the time spent in kitchen though they can do so.

To sum up, it is possible that people might not be able to arrive at an
agreement over this iusse. However, taking into account all the factors,
people do not have to go very far to see that people will not spend less
time in cooking and preparing food in 20 years later.

10.21有钱不工作的人不幸福,同不同意

There is no denying that some people do not have to feed on work. Some might win lottery while some might herit a lot of money from others or were born in a rich families. There is a statement that those people who do not need to work are not happy. However, I do not agree with this statement.

The main reason here is that not everyone likes working. Everyone has his own interest. Many people are not able to pursue their interest just because their interest can not bring them money while they need money to live. If these people do not need to worry about money, they will freely chase their interest. But who can say that they are not happy? For example, my friend Tom chose a major he does not like since the one he likes can not help him find a good job. He found a great job after gradutaion. Nevertheless, when he thought he had enough money, he resigned and went to chase his dream. We all know that Tom is happy only after his quit.

Furthermore, even to those who like working, stoping working does not indicate that they will become unhappy. There are many things that worth our attention outside the work, such as family. When people compeletely concentrate on their jobs, they might ignore other things around them. Many people who have successful career regret about their absence in the family. For instance, many people are always too busy to attend the meeting or activity of their children. They might not care about it much, but their behaviour enlarge the gap between them and their families. Thus many rich people prefer to stay with their family rather than to make more money. They know that work is not the only thing in their lives.

Different people will not have the same demand of life. Most people work to achieve a better life. They work hard only for one day when they can live without working. Work is a method for people to achieve happiness and if they do not have any reason to work, they will be happy because they can live their lives they want.

To sum up, different people will hold different answers over this issue. Nonetheless, people do not have to go so far to see that those who do not work can also be happy.

10.27  Agree or disagree: The next twenty years from now on, students will not use printed books any more.

Alongside with the development of technology, printed books are disappearing in our daily life. Engineers have developed many portable devices that can be used to read electrical books nearly everywhere. Those devices, such as the Kindle series from Amazon, are becoming more and more popular among people. In my opinion, although today most students are still using printed books, students will not use them any more the twenty years from now on.

The main reason that electrical books will replace printed books is that electrical books are more convenient to use. Students do not have to carry tons of books in the near future. What they need to do is only to take a portable device with them. Moreover, it is easier to pinpoint any knowledge in an electrical book than in a traditional printed book. For example, when we want to find a story in a Bible, we might have to go through the entire book if we are not familiar with it. However, if using an electrical book, we can easily locate that story by the search function offered by the advanced technology.

Another reason I consider here is that electrical books are more environment friendly than printed books. Quite a lot of trees are being cut every year in the world just to print the books used by students. The print factories also cause a large amount of pollution everywhere. By using electrical books, people do not need to cut those trees and do not have to worry about the dangerous pollutant emitted by print factories. By the same token, we can reduce air pollution by eliminating the book transportation.

I have to admit that traditional books still have some advantages over electrical books. They are more healthy because of zero radiation. People will feel less tired while reading printed book for a long time. Nonetheless, the development of advanced technology have made it possible for us to have a portable device that is read like a tradition book. For instance, its screen seems like traditional paper while the radiation has been brought down to near zero. This kind of device might be expensive now, but just like that of computer, its price will be acceptable in a few years. Then most people will choose the electrical books because of their overwhelming merits.

In sum, it is most likely that people will never arrive at an agreement over such an controversial issue. Nevertheless, taking into account all the factors, people do not have to go very far to see that all students will use electrical books in the near future.
