哎呀,2个小时过去了就写了这么点字啊。。。囧啦:dizzy::dizzy:
With the speeding-up innovation and development of modern techniques, many aspects of our lives, such as ways to document, have been dramatically enriched. For instance, compared with written records, the traditional way of documentation, video camera is gradually becoming more attractive for the merits of accuracy and convincing. However, based on those facts, some people assertively reached a conclusion that video camera is more important than written records. In fact, despite these advantages, video camera still has some weak points, which can’t compete with written records.
To begin with, there are many limitations on the useof video cameras, which can be classified into two categories, equipment and environment.
Firstly, camera recording needs relative equipment,such as DVD viewer and cameras. Nowadays, though many families have possessed DVD viewers, the video camera is not widely owned by ordinary families, especially in poor districts. Actually, this shortcoming prevents DVD video from being prevailing. But it can be easily made up by written records, which is obviously more economical. Besides, electricity support is another annoying thing in video camera recording. Most of the video cameras can only constantly works for2 or 3 hours, which can't content most of our needs. In respond to this, written records can be taken anytime, anywhere.
Secondly, video camera is forbidden and can’t be used undersome special environment. Take one of my professors, who engaging in gay rights legislation, for example. When he did surveys in gay clubs, the only way of recording is writing. Because video cameras turn to be offensive to those people who don't want show up for privacy or other reasons, written recording will be more appropriate and effective in these cases. Similar situations also occur in several academic researches, especially in history and literature fields. Since that many previous documents, such as diaries by great people, kept in libraries or museums are protected from photograph or video record, the only way to copythose materials is hand writing.
Besides the above, written words have wonderful functions that video records hard to reach. On one hand, written recordings such as novels and biographies are endowed by the beautiful nature which cannot be conveyed by videos. I'm always fascinated and moved by the touching words inA Tale of Two Cities by Dickens and imaging the beautiful picture described init. On the other hand, written material is a more clear and direct way to convey deep thoughts of the author to others. This can explain why books arestill hot sale nowadays, facing the challenges from video camera.
At last, I want to emphasis that, though video camerais an accurate and convincing way of documentation, it doesn't mean videos weights more than written records. Indeed, both of the two methods have their own pros. and cons., thus we could not ignore either. I couldn't imagine a life without video pictures telling me how beautiful the sunrise in the other side of the earth, either could I bear when all the great thought of Plato are convertedinto video movies. All in all, videos and writings should be combined together to function best, in order to provide better service to our mankind.
