The video camera provides such an accurate and convincing record of contemporary life that it has become a more important form of documentation than written records.
采用正、反大法
正：
Video确实很逼真和令人信服。
1.我们平时看新闻，认为电视比报纸更直观。例如北京奥运会中，博尔特破世界记录这一场景。
2.“眼见为实”，人们更愿意相信图像而不是文字。
反：
作者认为是因为the video camera provides such an accurate and convincing record，所以认为the video become a more important form of documentation than written records.
（一）先从论据分析。
1.accurate.视频不一定比文字更精确。例子：有时候视频不能表现出一些抽象的东西，比如人的内心。这也是为什么有时候我们认为小说比电影更精彩。例如我们看了《肖申克的救赎》电影后，总觉得小说写得更精彩。
2．Convincing.文字上的作假比较容易。但是视频同样可以作假。好莱坞大片的拍摄很多场面都是后期制作的。
但是我放弃从该点分析，因为这样会推翻我前面的正面陈述。
（二）从结论分析
1.video的取材受到的限制比较多，必须在事件发生的同时摄录。但是文字则可以通过人们的陈述来记录。所以很多时候还是必须通过文字来记录。
2.从保存上来讲。文字占用的空间小，这样就方便发送和拷贝。而且文字可以打印出来采用纸质档案保存，相对视频的胶卷或者数据，更加安全，成本也更低。
合：
视频和文字都很重要，通过统计数据得出，我校有69%的资料是用文字保存，31%的资料是VIDEO（数据我乱编的）。
Nowadays, the videos are widely used in our daily life. An increasing number of people use video camera to record their movements and actions. Some people assert that the video camera has become a more important form of documentation than written records. It seems that these speakers’ statement is persuasive, but in my opinion we cannot say whether video or written record is more important.
It goes without saying that videos provide more accurately record than written methods. Watching TV compared with reading newspapers, a majority of people will prefer to choose TV programs. We are able to access information faster and more intuitive through videos. For example, Bolt who won the champion in 100-meter sprint in Beijing Olympic Games in 2008 gave an unbelievable and sound performance. We couldn't imagine how fast he could run by reading words on newspaper. Nevertheless the videos show us vividly this fantastic performance.
Moreover, there is a saying that what you see with your own eyes is the truth. People could directly observe the subjects in video records and generally it is hard to deny what appears in the videos. While in the form of written documentation, people could deny these records saying that someone faked it. On the other hand, the video records provide us an easier way to understand what is recorded. We can hardly understand the written of ancients from thousands years ago or the people use another languages like Japanese, Korean and so on. Someone will think we can translate the Japanese original into the English so that we can read it with any difficult.
There is no doubt that videos is with great significance. Meanwhile, the videos media is not a perfect method in all fields than written documents. Written documents is more accurate than video in several aspects. For instance, the video does not show us some abstract things such as people's minds and emotion. However, a vivid description which is subtle and profound can make us be personally on the scene. At the same time, when we have read the written documents we have our own room for imagination. Last month, all of my classmates watched the film The Shawshank Redemption what was the Oscar Nominee in 1994 . Above fifty percent students who have read the original novel of Stephen King tend to believe the novel is more outstanding than the movie. Similarly, many people also prefer novel Harry Potter than the movie Harry Potter.
Furthermore, written material is convenient to copy and store which makes it more secure and less costly. As we know, video records are still in the face of the demand of giant data storing space. Whereas accessing the data on disk is too much of risk .Whether the bug or impact pressure will cause the data loss.
To sum up, we cannot say that the video camera has become more important form of documentation than written method. According to the Statistics, 69% of the data is stored in words and 31% of the information is video in our school. The videos bring us accurate and convincing record and the written records offers detailed and safety way to store documents. Both the videos and written records play important roles in our lives.
