大家好，我是KSU CIS系的一名在读Ph.D. 我系今年会增发一些fellowships奖学金，有兴趣者请关注，想了解更多关于我们系的情况请到下文网站中查询或者通过签名中的Email(注：签名的信息是我导师的信息)咨询相关情况，谢谢。当然也欢迎大家跟帖，我会尽量解答。

Kansas State University Department of Computing and Information Sciences is proud to announce a new PhD Fellowship Program for Fall 2010.

The PhD Fellowship Program is designed to support several newly admitted PhD students. Fellowships include a stipend of $24,000 per year plus full tuition support, for at least two years.


PhD Fellows will be selected based on demonstrated academic achievements and exceptional promise for successful research careers in computing and information sciences. Fellowships will include both teaching and/or research duties in areas selected by the candidates at the time of application. Faculty research areas include bioinformatics, computer and information security, distributed algorithms & systems, formal approaches to computation, machine learning and data mining, multiagent systems and cooperative robotics, operating systems, real-time systems, scientific computing, information retrieval, sensor networks, and software engineering.

The application deadline is January 1st 2010, and early applications are encouraged.

其实美国基本上都是大农村，这个奖学金再加上这里的消费水平能过得相当舒服了，我的房租每月才210刀，两个人住两个bedroom 4# jjs1986

跟中国比，美国大部分都是农村。堪萨斯，内布拉斯加，密西西比这些更是农村中的农村。曼哈屯更是不用说了。生活便宜是唯一的优点了。去那边的朋友那里玩过。从机场做那个什么shuttle就搞得我头昏脑胀。一路200来公里基本都是荒野。我去的时候是夏天，43摄氏度。。。热晕了

你们系的william Hsu还在不？我那个朋友在你们那边上过他的课，说此人挺有意思

William Hsu 还很活跃呢，看来你对我们系挺了解啊，他的uncle就是大名鼎鼎的李开复。另外，这边的确夏天热一点，但是不会持续太长时间。冬天挺爽，现在外面还20来度呢，当然是摄氏度。 7# kingrush

赞同这个说法，PhD受地理位置限制比较小，PhD做intern的也不多。Master么，一般也不会给fellow的吧

话说屯里面人还是都很淳朴和善的
