提纲……我再补吧……感觉现在写出来的这个提纲思路比较乱，还是对问题认识不够透彻……

Have you ever seen anyone attends a wedding ceremony and tries to record the scene of only with a pen and a piece of paper? Possibly not, because people today prefer using a video camera to take an accurate record, rather than writing down a vague description on such important. So it seems that video camera is more important than written records. Really? I can’t agree with the speaker for the reason that videos are not always accurate and sometimes written records take more advantages than videos.

Video camera provides a totally new way to record our daily lives. When we take a trip, we take video cameras with us, record the landscape and our activities during the trip, and later when we are back at home, we can share those with our friends. Some parents like to video their children as they grow up, and those records can be precious memories when the children become older. As a form of multimedia, video can provide both image and audio records of our daily life which written records can’t. With video camera, we can exactly show others what we saw, what we heard. With video camera, we can know exactly what someone or something is like in the past. Video camera provides an accurate and vivid record of the physical world. We can’t know how the pyramids were built in the ancient Egypt, because they didn’t have video cameras. Moreover, people can easily use video cameras to record something even they don’t know a single word, while essential knowledge is required for people to make accurate written records. That’s another advantage video camera has.

However, sometime written records will take advantages, especially when we what to explain some abstract things. For example, when we study math, the concepts in books can’t easily or even impossible to show by video, because those concepts are something we process in mind. And video can’t record things like our feelings, our impressions and experience. Though a camera can record a man’s behaviors and expressions, we may hardly know what exactly he is thinking. At the spiritual level, written records are more important than videos.

Otherwise, though video camera can provide an accurate record of the things it filmed; it sometimes fails to reflect the real life. “Seeing is believing”, so people today like to see everything for themselves, and video camera makes it possible. But what we see sometimes may not be the truth. Indeed, video camera makes an accurate description on what it recorded, but most time it is impossible to record every detail in an event, and maybe what we see in the video is not the most important part, even not the truth. What make things worse is that sometime the cameraman avoids the key point on some purposes.

To sum, video take advantage in recording objective things, while written records focus on abstract things. They are both important in recording our contemporary lives.
