The statement which made by the speaker tries to disprove that the unemployment phenomenon due to corporate downsizing from one article. Ironically, it did not demonstrate coherent reasons in the paragraph to make its point.

The article which talks about the corporate downsizing illustrate that there are lots of good workers have been fired due to the companies manipulation, and they have been through hard time during in the unemployment. On the contrary, the speaker says that according to one American report, there are more jobs have been created than the jobs have been eliminated ever since 1992. On this point, the speaker obviously, does not consider that the growth of population in the past decade. The growth of population in the past years have been increased significantly, it's possible that the increased jobs can not meet the growth of population.

Meanwhile, as the jobs increase, the speaker should have considered the created jobs need to satisfy other social groups, especially, graduates from the colleges and universities, the ordinary people from the society in order to keep the whole society develop in a harmonious way. Consequently, it is not accurate to determine that the increased jobs must solve the unemployment of the skillful workers. At the same time, the speakers utilizes imprecise word “far more” in that sentence which can not illustrate how many jobs have been created in the past years to offer the people's employment. Since the percentage could be 99, but it also could be 50, so the speaker's illustration is lack of specific evidences.

Further more, the speaker says that the report also shows many unemployed workers have found their jobs again, does the word many can conclude most people already find their jobs? Obviously, this kind of vague demonstration can not disprove the recent unemployment base upon corporate downsizing. On the other hand, there are several loopholes on this point. To be exact, the speaker does not mention how long do those unemployed workers spend their time on finding the jobs again? What have they been through during the hard time? As a result, the speaker undisputable neglects some issues when he is trying to make his point to disprove the corporate downsizing phenomenon.

At last, the speaker does not mention what the exact numbers of the newly created jobs, by saying that two-thirds of the newly created jobs have been paid more and vast majority of these jobs are full-time is meaningless. Meanwhile, the one-third of the newly created jobs and the part time jobs should be put into consideration as well. Because the speaker spares efforts to demonstrate the good sides of the created jobs, but there are still some occupations that huge amount of people are struggling for their lives.

In sum, the speaker uses different angles to view the unemployment problem; he believes that the reason which says in one article based upon corporate downsizing is misleading, but actually he does not analyzes the problem coherently. Such as the ever increased jobs, people find better and steadier jobs again and so forth, but they definitely can not necessary draw the conclusion that the corporate downsizing is misleading.
