In our daily life, we usually have different ideas about the same issue with people around us. However, how do we deal with these different views? The writer asserts that we can only learn from people who have the same views. Based on what I have learned and experienced I believe that we can also learn from the ones whose views are different from us.
First, we can take the debates or different English competitions for instance. The aim of the debates or the competitions is to discuss the different views. Through the discussion we can learn from others and exchange different ideas. Meanwhile, because of these different views we can enhance our knowledge.
Second, we can take the science research for example. Science is very complicated and it needs to combine different views and refine the essence from different ideas. The scientists need to cooperate with each other, and new ideas often come from different ideas in discussion . In some big companies like Microsoft, the staffs often have the meeting, they get together to discuss the work process and the new technology development. During the meeting, they share not only the same views but also different ones. Usually the staffs can get the brainstorms especially from the disagreements.
Finally let’s have a look at the education. Communication is very important for me as an English teacher in a middle school. As for the same lesson different teachers have different teaching ideas. In a teaching competition a couple of years ago, the teachers had a discussion, and my colleagues gave me lots of different ideas which made me a little stressed. However, the discussion gave me another opportunity to think about my teaching from different viewpoints and learn from the others. The combination of some of the teaching approaches on the basis of my own ideas won me better performance in my later teaching career.
In sum, from what has been discussed above, we can arrive at the conclusion that sharing the same ideas can help us a lot, while the different views can improve the learning instead of inhibiting it.
