赶在周一写出来。拖了很久呀。

ISSUE13
Many of the world's lesser-known languages are being lost as fewer and fewer people speak them. The governments of countries in which these languages are spoken should act to prevent such languages from becoming extinct.


Those who rules the languages rule the world. Languages, often regarded as the boat which conveys the meanings and thoughts, also serves as the cane of authority. In this way, the language protecting issue is not merely a struggle on which ABC we would rather use, or simply protecting the folk culture which is standing on the cliff; this is a crucial problem that whether we could take a standing point in face of the wave of globalization.


Language is power. Back to a prehistoric scene, where wizards takes up the rule of the tribes. Wizards, those who were able to use a writing language got involved in establishing the laws, start religion activities, build up histories and such on. Thus, power and wealth gathered to simply a group of elites. The same story happens now: English, from the 17th century till now, bursts in the vocabulary--from a 100,000-word-language, to one enjoys a juggernaunt of 2 million words. Meanwhile, the current of French, German, Spanish or such on remains on the level of 100,000. Languages without users, often ones without financial weight, die out. Uncle Sam starts a huge wave which engulfs the world--from the millions of Starbucks to the billions of T-bonds. Uneducated kids selling little souvenirs in South Africa, China, Mexico, Brazil, Maldives, and every country enjoys the benefit tourism brings--speaks good English. There is no doubt English is flooding over the world, there is no doubt the folks who refuses to embrace such language of authority, are weakened or even extinguished. Eventually and most importantly, should the trend of the language distinction remains, the ecosystem of the languages is broken up, and diversity of the culture dies. A forest with merely wolves could not last. Based on the benefit of both developed countries with languages widely used, and the benefit of endangered languages and folks, the protection is not only needed but a must.

Languages, also serve as the highly condensing of the culture heritage, also responsible for the preservation of culture. Germans rushed into Ancient Rome and ravished all Europe culture relics; without the Saints transferred the Roman and Christian culture to the North Africa and Turkey, god in Europe now is merely a legend rather than a religion. The languages plays the crucial role in the preservation.

想说，本文是否有离题之虞？题干涉及的是“濒危”语言的保护问题，是一个相对狭窄的范围，而非期望宽泛的论述语言的重要性啥的。虽然作者关于语言=权力的观点很有意思（个人很喜欢，也曾经考虑过话语权的问题，‘我没有嘴，我要呐喊’），然而想想题目的背景-- 一个语言已经濒危的社会多半已经饱受外来势力蚕食，还可能管什么权力不权力的么，能自保、顶多保护一下语言，就不错了。权力之流太庞大。另外个人觉得论述部分不是很令人信服。
但是作者的语言功底是显见的~虽然这篇不在状态，不过还是很顺畅。中文的就是不一样么，行文自由。

LZ语言很形象耶··不过思路上似乎跑题了。

题目想让我们讨论的是濒临灭绝的语言是否需要保护。
但你的第二段却在讨论【强势语言】（My question is "What's your purpose?"）

也就在第二段，最后几句话你提到【语言多样性】的问题，却没给出论证。（Why diversity is important? Why cannot all human use the same language?）
As far as I concern, languages are really different from animals. A forest with merely wolves could not last because it needs balance in its ecosystem. But human society can keep developing even with only one language. 动物之间存在食物链上的依赖关系，但语言的存在并不依托于其他语言的存在。假设中国国内的粤语、闽南语等等全部消失了，普通话就不能独立存在了吗？

就个人认为，我们需要语言多样性不是因为某种语言不能离开其他语言而独立存在，而是因为我们需要文化的多样性，这也应该就是你在第三段中所要描写的内容。语言代表文化。嗯～～等待你完整的习作咯！
