Since then, average property values have tripled in Brookville. In order to raise property values in Deerhaven Acres, we should adopt our own set of restrictions on landscaping and house painting."

The statement is apparently well-presented, but not thoroughly well-reasoned. By making a comparison of the nearby Brookville, the community with a set of restrictions are adopted and therefore tripled its homeowners' average property values in seven years, with the community of Deerhaven Acres, the argument for carrying out a same regulation seems to make sense.

To begin with, the speaker cite a superficial phenomenon and cause a illusion.The average property values are tripled in seven years does not equal to that all the homeowners in Brookville benefited from the restrictions. The minority of homeowners got generous profits and further upgraded the earnings collectively. In the condition of comparatively stable number of homeowners in Brookville, the average property values can definitely be tripled.

In addition, the speaker fails to consider other possible alternatives to the increase property values. Such alternatives may include the fact that there are natural landscapes and resources, which are essential factors to develop industries like tourist business to increase the incomes of homeowners. The unified restrictions about yards and homes just make perfection more perfect. It is possible that the local manager enacted an open commercial policy seven years ago, then encouraged a large amount of investors' coming. While on the other hand, Brookville may be lacking of sufficient natural beauty or a positive developing blueprint, thus a series of restrictions are obviously useless.

Even the restrictions of landscaping the yard and painting the exteriors wall play a significant role in prompting the local economy and increasing the average property values, the speaker ignores the restrictions' practicability in Deerhaven Acres. The homeowners in Brookville may be more friendly and adaptable than that of Deerhaven Acres, they are happier to accept new-born things like refreshing their common yard and their own houses. By contrast, homeowners in Deerhaven Acres may be satisfied with their current situation and refuse to change their present surroundings, therefore, putting the restrictions into reality will be difficult.
Finally, even if the constructions ultimately come true in Deerhaven, the initial goal of raising property of values could be possibly achieved, because of the copy will lead Deerhaven Acres to lose its original special characteristics, further lose current advantages. The worst of such a imitating action is that Deerhaven Acres' established property values would run off , for it changing its excellences to a meaningless replication.

Overall, the reasoning behind restricting the homeowners of Deerhaven Acres of how the community's yards should be landscaped and what colors the exteriors of homes should be painted seems logical as a previous example of Brookville has indicated a successful result. However, before making a final decision, a comprehensive evaluation of Deerhaven Acres is necessary, at the same time, various issues should be taken into consideration, for the practical outcoming is decided by different factors. Take actions suit to the local circumstances is the best way to prompt the property values.
