早上打开邮箱，发现来了AD，在此叙述一下面试经过，攒点人品，希望offers快点来~~ 背景：小本985末校 GPA 3.20/4.00; GRE V 450 Q 790 A 3.0；ibt 104；数学建模一等奖 1.18晚上11：30那边打来电话，是Associate Director Igor,接到电话，发现不知道对方名字应该怎么发音，随便叫了一个。。。顿时很尴尬，貌似叫错了。。。。于是只好互相寒暄了两句天气缓解尴尬。接着进入正题，

I: Why are you interested in applying our program?
M: (说的时候有点结巴。但之前准备了，就照着念。
I: Do you think it is necessary to have a master’s degree before PhD? M: 愣住。。没想到会问这个，准备不充分啊。。。Yes. I don’t think that I am qualified to entering a top PhD program at this stage and I am sure that it is much easier for me after graduation from your program. I: Oh, I understand. So what’s your favorite course at college? M: Umm.(又没准备。。汗。。) I think principles of chemical engineering…. Because I did pretty well on that course and besides, it will be very useful in the industry…. I: Umm. What is the course that you don’t like? M: 心慌慌。。。怎么说呢。怕是个陷阱，又不知道要怎么说。。 the manufacturing course I think, we have to build mold sometimes, ….. such as helmet(…..其实是想说hammer╮(╯▽╰)╭)。。。。for girls we don’t have much strength, so it was very tired ……简直是乱来了。。。 I： Oh。。。（估计他没听明白。。）What’s your biggest achievement? M: 将数模比赛准备好的东西念了一遍。 I： terrific！Will you participate in the coming shanghai Expo? M: No, I won’t. I don’t have much time for that. Actually I did pass the interview for volunteers but finally I gave it up because I will be busy then…… it is quite a pity…. I: OK. Do you have any questions for me? M: Yes. Do most students publish an article/conduct research prior to graduation? To what extent are students involved in assisting these faculty members with related research projects? I: not many. actually Quite a few of them publish papers, it depends on the research project they take. M: I see. I noticed that your program enrolled many international students. Do they perform well in your program? They come from different countries and various backgrounds. What kind of advantage do they bring to your program? I: To which aspect? The academic performance or to find a job? M: Both, I want to know both sides. I: well, international students are doing well in academic work. But it is harder for them to find jobs here. Not every international student is good at English and they may have trouble in communications. For example, two Korean students cannot find a job in US so they went back to Korea after they graduated. M: Oh, I understand. So English is still very important in finding a job… Here is the last question. Are there opportunities such as assistantships, fellowships or internships available? What are the deadlines to apply for these opportunities? Can I apply? I: No. but you can earn some money in internships. It’s not enough but you can probably save money for only a quarter’s tuition fee. M: All right. I think I already got what I want to know. Thanks for giving me the chance of interview. (他没收我的申请费) thanks for making me relax during the conversation. I: 尴尬的笑笑。。。。。thank you because I know it is very late in the night for you, right? M: yes. But it’s OK. I am very glad talking to you.By the way, when will I know the result? I: oh, very soon. In a week. M: OK. That’s really fast. ……. 然后其实21号晚上就给AD了。
