题目：ARGUMENT14 - The following appeared in a memo from the owner of Green Thumb Gardening Center, a small business serving a suburban town.
"There is evidence that consumers are becoming more and more interested in growing their own vegetables. A national survey conducted last month indicated that many consumers were dissatisfied with the quality of fresh vegetables available in supermarkets. And locally, the gardening magazine Great Gardens has sold out at the Village News stand three months in a row. Thus, we at Green Thumb Gardening Center can increase our profits by greatly expanding the variety of vegetable seeds we stock for gardeners this coming spring."

In this argument, the author cites the evidence that result of a national survey rests on consumers' dissatisfaction with vegetables qualities sold in supermarket. Another piece of evidence presented to support the argument is that recent three month the gardening magazine has sold out locally. Hence the author draws an conclusion that they can bring profits by greatly stocking various vegetable seeds.

In the first place, the author cited the national survey show no signs about his assumption.The fact of this survey is likely conducted by most of  consumers who dissatisfied with the vegetable qualities. However, these consumers might just in a small proportion in the whole number. Furthermore, this national survey cannot response that people live in this town are in the same situation.It is entirely that residents in here quite satisfied with the quality of vegetables sell in supermarket.In short, without ruling out other possible reasons for majority of consumers in this town were satisfied vegetables sold in supermarket ,the author cannot convinced me on the basis of a national survey.

In the second place,the author harshly to assumes that gardening magazine has sold out recent three months locally means that people would like to grow vegetables by their own.The author neglects one and more other factors took place by chance such as the reduced of publishing and supply of the gardening magazine which lend to them sold out soon. If so, this fact would seriously weaken the author's assumption that people would interest in plant vegetables,let alone that stocking vegetables seeds would bring them great profits.

Last but not least,the author fails to consider any other possible disadvantages such as bad weather condition or slack season which would bring a clash to the quality of vegetables. In addition, even though it is not in such situations, consumers dissatisfied with vegetable available in supermarket do no mean that they cannot buy contented vegetables in other where.If the author is incapable of eliminating other such those possibilities, I cannot convince this conclusion is reliable.

To sum up, the conclusion lacks credibility because the evidence cited in the analysis does not lend cogent support to what the author maintains. To strengthen the argument, the author would have to provide more evidence concerning the vegetable quality survey conduct by majority of local consumers.To better assess the argument, we would need more information regarding wether people would like to plant vegetable by themselves.
