The telephone has a greater effect onpeople's lives than the television do.
Telephone and television, tworepresentative modern technologies, both play a significant role in people'slives, which makes it hard to simply
tell a more influential one.If a comparison is necessary, from my point of view, telephone's effect isgreater in the following aspects.
The chief reason that telephone is moreinfluential is that, people use telephone more often and regard it as a necessity
. To pick up atime for a business conversation, to communicate with relatives far away, or toexpress the daily emotions, the first thing people would think of is apparentlytelephone. Consequently, almost every person may use telephone several times ina single day. In the meanwhile, television is less frequentely used. Other alternatives such asInternet, MP4 are readily available for people with greater convenience andmore functions. As far as I know, relatively large groups like students andbusinessmen would spend a lot of time on these alternatives of television, while having no access to television in a long time.
Another reason for telephone's greatereffect is its benefits. Compared with television's entertainment purpose, telephone's functions of getting connection with others, communication and transferring
informationare more important. With the extraordinary convenience and benefits telephoneoffers, people nowadays just cannot imagine the world without telephone. Takingthe daily experience everyone may face as a paradigmatic example of this.Imagine that I want to watch the heated movie 'Avater' with my friends in a newestablished theatre. Without telephone, we may have trouble to fix the time; oreven we have fixed it in advance, we may have to spend time looking for eachother. In this sense, the benefits of the telephone outweigh the ones oftelevision.
Finally, with the remarkable progress oftechnology development, there is possibility that telephone would totally takethe role of television. It is remembered that ten years ago, only a small percentof families installed telephone, and far less percent of people who hold cellphone. However, nowadays, telephone is so popular that almost everyone obtainsone. What’s more, we can use our cell phones to get access to the internet tosearch information as well as to watch TV programs. Thus, it is reasonable toimagine that in the near future, everyone may use the telephone for functionsthe television provides now, leaving little space for television.
In conclusion, telephone renders a moreimportant effect on our lives as it is used more often, and its functions aremore crucial and versatile.
第一次参加小组作业,发现时间不够,30分钟内只完成了前三段和第四段的开头,语言和用词也没有时间斟酌,匆匆补上最后几句就厚脸皮地放上来了。求批...
