59"Too much emphasis is placed on role models. Instead of copying others, people should learn to think and act independently and thus make the choices that are best for them."
We are living in the media age where fans for super stars, whether hot singers or famous athletes or super rich men or top scientists are nearly everywhere, however, the true time of role models has not come yet. People need another thought about the role of role models. More emphasis on ordinary life role models and a more scientific way of following role models are also badly needed.
Role models come when people are not sure which the best goal is or how to get there. Many times people themselves don’t know where to go, and then the achievements of role models which are so attractive would point the way. When people feel the loss of something for reaching the goal, then the personal traits and social philosophy[MY1] of our role models would help. In a word, role models are some kind of guiders in our lives, suggesting the goal we are for, teaching us how to get improved in our real lives-role that is quite practical and helpful.
However, people are actually making this practical figure more and more ideal by confusing idols especially super stars with role models. I’m not saying that super stars cannot help us improve, they do, cause super stars whether famous singers, athletes, billionaires or scientists, their success inspire people to fight. The issue is that we are so focused on those huge successes that most people overlook the role models in our real lives, who are much more real and accessible than those huge successes, learning from whom we can improve more practically. According a long-term survey on role models, most answered super stars; only about 10% answered the ordinary successes like a responsible family member or a wise friend. In the following survey ten years later, the 10% improve most, replying they are getting nearer to their previous role models, or they have already achieve their role models’ place. Obviously, compared to those far away idols the role models in ordinary life are more meaningful and helpful, the pity is that only quite a few people realize that. So calm down from the craze for super stars, find yourself a role model in real life-the wise choice.
However to make the best of role models, finding an appropriate role model is just the very beginning, key is it to learn why and how our role models do things, but not simply copying, cause everyone is special-we may copy one’s behavior, but never
the same result. Not hard to find the copying failures. Take my story as an example; I have an amazing efficient friend, whom I set as my role model. At first I just simply made the same choices as she did, but soon I was totally messed up, getting the very opposite result against my friend’s. It forced me to think thoroughly and finally learn that it’s not what my friend does but her why and how she does things that matters. Independent thinking helps her make the choice best for her while not so good for me; good qualities like concentration and strict execution help her achieve her goal-I got it and finally by trying hard to be independent, concentrated and strict with myself, I found my way. In a word, we cannot copy other’s life, but we can learn the role model’s qualities, which along with the independent mind and execution would help us get to the best for us.
All in all, super stars and copying success are not the truth. The truth is that life is near-calm down from super stars, find yourself role models in real life; life is yours-only dependent thinkers and practitioners , who learn the qualities but not simply copy models, could reach the very essence, making the best choice for themselves.

Seeing the newsletter, one may instantly feel worry for the endangered species and environment in West Fredonia (wf), making the decision never to buy CCC's products from now on. However, before carrying out the environmental plan, please review and rethink about it. You will find several severe logical problems and that much valuable information were left out.
Citing the horrible inevitable pollution and environmental disaster, the propagandists try to realize readers of the dangerous condition of wf's environment; however, things might not be that bad. I'm not saying that copper mining is harmless-impossible; actually, any mining behavior pollutes the environment. The issue is how severe the pollution is, and whether it is acceptable or not. From the newsletter we may safely conclude that CCC must be so big a company that it could afford that much land. Bigger company means more advancing environmental ideas and techniques, and thus less harmful effect on environment. So it is entirely possible that CCC has already prepared effective environmental measures for its mining plan to decrease the harm effect as much as possible. What's more, no information indicates that those endangered species live on the land CCC bought. Even if several live in, no evidence is provided that the endangered species' habitants would be mined. Lacking all these information, we have good reason to wonder the frightening claim was too exaggerate and sensational.[MY1]
Moreover, the "refuse"
suggestion might be unnecessary and is definitely impractical. Before taking out the resist plan, several questions must be answered. Doesn't mf know its possible dangerous environment situation? Is there such a nation who neglects its environment security, letting developers exploit and harm its own country freely? Any responsible government would not let anyone to abuse its country that way-so, it is highly possible that wf has already work out restrictions to protect its endangered species and environment to the best of its ability. If so, the consumer resisting suggestion is unnecessary. Even if there does exist such enable government, mf's environment need other's help, the refusing campaign is not a practical choice. CCC is just a basic material provider-the first company in procedure, many other companies follow, and when products finally reach to consumers, we can only see the name of the last company. As a matter of fact, most consumers even don't know whether there is copper in products at all. Then, how can consumers recognize whether the products are made with CCC's copper? Let alone refuse to buy. Anyway, the consumer resisting plan is either unnecessary or impractical.
Lastly but most importantly, we need to question why the newsletter appeared in political rally but not on TV or newspaper to its aim supporter-consumers. Complicated are political benefit associations, so we have good reason to wonder whether the suggestion is based on some unknown political intention. If this is the case, all the frightening prediction would be more doubtful.
To sum up, lacking much key information, the newsletter is open to doubt. To better evaluate it, we need to know whether CCC would take effective environmental protections, the distribution of mf’s endangered species, how mf would react to CCC’s mining project and the very reason why the newsletter was showed on a political rally.
