这篇写了好长时间 还是这么垃圾 杯具啊

TOPIC: ISSUE214 - "Society should identify those children who have special talents and abilities and begin training them at an early age so that they can eventually excel in their areas of ability. Otherwise, these talents are likely to remain undeveloped."
WORDS: 400多```          TIME: 00:45:00          DATE: 2010-1-30 20:30:17
That young people should always be ambitious and should always strive for their aim seems to be a propensity in our society. Recently, both philosophers and psychologists ponther that whether or not we should train and nurture those children to develop their talents. The question is that such kind of step may constitute deteriorate elements both to the children themselves and the development of science in the long run.

First of all, the purpose of such kind of steps to help those children is above reproach. Identifing talented and exerlent students is the ever-lasting dream of every educators in school, and is the duty of the whole society to constitute a sustainable and flourishing environment for science research. As for those students of developmental psychology, it is a chance for them to change their life and realize the goals for the future.

Beyond this concession, however, I disagree with  the issue that  although it is  a good recommendation with a thankful purpose, the extent and object aredubitable. Firstly, the word "special" has different meanings under different conditions. For instance, when a student runs faster than others or jump higher  than the average, we can say that he or she is a student with "special" ability. However, there are millions of students who could master those kind of abilities. I do not think we have the power to indentify the alilities and help all of them to develop their skills.Secondly, some talents do not any minute trace in an early age. Tomas Edison, the famous scientist who kindled the world with his aspirations of light for example, had a bad performance at an early age. Science is a kind of subject that refuses nobody even if he or she is too old.

Finally, indentifying young student at an early age and sending them to a place full of knowledge as well as pressure and competetion may dissipate their love for science and thus destruct their latent capacity in the future. AiNan , a seven-year-old child with exerlent wisdom who had passed the chemistry examination of the United Kingdom Testing Acadamy, was refused to admit in NanYang Technological University in Singapore. Althogh Mr.White, the dean of Department of Materials Science and Engineering, were full of praise for the talence of AiNan, he declined him for the reason that "letting the child enroll at too early an age would limit his ability and imagination, and fade his enthusiasm for science." Mr.White is the sharp observer of human nature and has helped AiNan with his sensible and judicious decision.

To sum up, nurturing those talented students is beyond  reproach, but we should consider the extent of those kind measures and thus it can benefit the whole society in the long run.
