221"The chief benefit of the study of history is to break down the illusion that people in one period of time are significantly different from people who lived at any other time in history." 这篇真悲剧 - -
提纲：
1、  1、概括，同意人类一直有某些共性，反对历史的主要好处是。。。。
2、  2、诚然，人类一直以来都有许多共性。从人类开始学习如何运用火焰，到工业革命，直至现在计算机的发明，无一不反映了人类对未知的追求。
3、  3、每个时代的人具有当代的特质，截然不同。现代高度发达的科技和靠着俘获猛兽的原始人的区别。只有人类不断进步，才使得社会不断进步。
4、  4、学习历史使人明智。古代君王的残暴，导致他的国家的灭亡，如果现代国家领袖不知道这一必然的发展趋势，他的国家也将灭亡。所以历史在不断的教导我们。
5、  5、历史的学习的主要好处不仅仅是如作者所说，它也反映着每个时代的不同，以及它的教诲。

Do people now live in the illusion that they are significantly different from a period time to any other time, which is not the chief benefit of history? In my viewpoint, although I concede that people from different time indeed have some same points, in fact, there are much more different features between people who live in different time, and I’m fully convinced that we can benefit a lot from any period of history.

Granted, we are able to see some familiar features from primitive people to modern people. When a person belonging to a preliterate began to know about how to use fire, when industrial revolution once break out in Scotland, when periodic table of elements once been composed, and even the development of modern computer. From what have been invented by human, we are fully convinced that one of the most important features between human from one period of time to another is the desire to catch up with dreams and brave.

However, more and more people and experts in history are beginning to realize that different people from different period have their different views. When we live in primitive society, we are only able to focus our energy on how to kill Mammoth for a delicious supper, and have no responsibility of learning new high-technology skills compared with much more stressful work and less leisurely, have to develop interpersonal skills, pay more attention to the impression other people make on us, and adopt a healthy life in modern society.

Furthermore, the majority of people believe that the study of history will provide them a considerable attitude toward life. When it comes to construction of nation, the history over the thousands of years show that, the demise of a country due to its emperor’s contribution. Once a leader of a nation seem to fail to take into account this basic fact, both economic growth and development of technology is bound to undergoing a decline, or even die out several years later.

To sum up, the study of history not only provide common senses and different views from people who live in certain period, but also seem to be a textbook, which will put modern people in favorable attitude toward their life and study.

To sum up, the study of history not only provide common senses and different views from people who live in certain period, but also seem to be a textbook, which will put modern people in favorable attitude （第三中间段也用这2个词不就意思明确了嘛）toward their life and study

个人认为，本文可以把重点放在第3段上，多加一个例子，集中于某一个或两个attitude，进行论述，这样本文的篇幅也可以变长。当然第2段讲的也有点宽泛了，可以集中一些，然后举适当的有针对性的例子。
这篇文章我自己也不是特别懂，可能也对你文章的理解出现了偏差，这篇挺难写也挺难改的。
