56"Governments should focus more on solving the immediate problems of today rather than trying to solve the anticipated problems of the future."

Some people hold the view that governments should focus more on solving the immediate problems of today rather than trying to solve the anticipated problems of the future,but in many cases to foresee the problems and solve them in advance is considered a better idea.
Problems a country may faced up with consist of two types:those must be settled at once or within some decades as an increase on GDP,and those seemingly can be postponed,to construct a healthy economic structure for instance.Throughout the history people were in the preference to deal with the first type of problems ,for one reason they always capture most of the public attention and hold a bigger possibility to have politicians criticized,and for another reason,the second part of problems are of so little influence in comparison of the current affairs that their future impact is easy to be ignored.However,except for some unpredictable things as earthquacks and tsunamis,most of the problems need to be settled right now were transformed from what were considered insignificant.Today we worry about a lack of water,but nobody would imagine this three hundred years ago in sight of the blue waves of Thames and Amazon.Today we are pressed by the inflation,but were there enough people alert of it when the figures in their accounts kept growing?A skyscraper breaks down just because ants dig on it.The harmless peccadillos we leave alone today may grow into deadly problems in the future.
If governments just focus on solving the most urgent problems and set the anticipated ones aside,there would form a situation like a race in which the government runs after the problems:glitches are enlarging their influence silently while people are dealing with pressing problems,and people have to settle the new-formed emergencies while another group of glitches will get stronger.No doubt that doing such passive things is of no beneficance to the progress of the society,and only by throtling the future disasters in their infancy could the government take an advantage in the race.In the last century some coutries were devoted to developing without caring for the environment,which tripped them in an embrassing situation that they have to spent a great deal of money and labor on treasures that may do little help to save the rotted earth.Learned from experience gained from this pain,some other coutries decided to follow the way of continuous development which balances the relationship between economic developing and environmental protection.It can be seen in this case that a far-sight government is more needed than one without vision.
Of course,to focus on anticipated problems and spare no attention on the present ones is also unwise.The more reasonable method is to find a compromise between the two tasks.A rational distribution can bring a nice current life and a hopeful future.
