In our advanced society, technology has permeated into every aspect of our life. No wonder it will affect our social customs and ethics, but that buy me a lot whether it can really determine our social customs and ethics, in my sense, both of two things pass up form generation to generation for thousand years.




Thanks to developed technique, our human being live a life that our ancestors even dare not imagine, even more, it frees us from the chain of our old customs which inherits for years. Nowadays, seldom there is people to walk a long way from city to city as ancient people did before, because of the invention of cars, airplane etc, also to do an instant report on handwrite as before as before, because of camera and video. It's hard for someone to live lack of these facilities, people become dependent on them more and more.




Not only manners of our daily life, technologies also influence our ethics by some degree. We don't need to worry about hackers before computer invented, so does the morality of it. The more we broaden the scope of new technique, the more complexity we need to confront in future. By the improvement of clone, the annoying issue intervening our ethics comes into our sight again, and as we all know, it sill is a conundrum to everyone. Sometimes conflicts happen, on the condition that our system of morality are still not ready to deal with them.





Basing on all these things we acquired, it is indeed insufficient to assume that technologies determine social customs and ethics. Just owning to existence of conflict between ethics and technologies, we can reckon that ethics are not under control of the other. Ethics are the marrow of humane long evolving history, by the effort of our mankind. Without it we can not go so far till today, all the prosperity we shared today comes from the contribution of it. Although we did experience the industrial revolution for several times, people goes from agriculture society to the industrial society, finally to media society, but the aim of us to purse our freedom and truth still push us to go forward.





Under hight knowledge of clone, we still can not copy people which will definitely disarray our long lasting morality, even to some extent it may benefits for us. Under the mass media, we can acquaint any information we want form all over the world, but we still give privacy and copyright to everyone, since we know, all the copys will mess up our world without innovation. We use it for a better life, that means, it is just a tool but a measurement of our society.




Also our customs still keep their traditions, although influenced by technology. People still like nature place such as national park, nature preservation and the like, no matter how the technology trys to give us inside copy of nature surrounding by concrete monsters.





To treat technologies in a impartial stand, indeed it alter most of our ways of life, but to control our customs and ethics, it is still beyond his reach.
