Dose how children are socialized decide thedestiny of society? Is the education today completely a failure? The speakersaid "Yes" to both of the questions. However, though I agree with theidea that children's socialization is important and we should pay more attentionon it, I do not think today's education a failure. Moreover, there is never any reason to regard socialization as the dominate factorthat determines the destiny of society.

Admittedly, socialization should play asignificant role in children's education. Date back to the ancient times, wewould find that human beings are social animals. Every one is a part of a certain social group. A person should learn how todeal with social communication and collaborationto keep the group and himself living on. Even though it is not so essential as longago that a person's life rely on the public, if the person want to develop intoa higher social position, he need to be well communicated with and easily cooperated with.Therefore, socialization is important in education.

Since socialization is of so greatconsequence, it is necessary to worry about modern education. As far as I see,modern education emphasized too much the logicalability, analytical thinking, creativity and so on. Children are always absent of systemic socialization. Besides, due to the attractive television program andinteresting computer games, children prefer to stay at home with those entertainmentsrather than play outside with friends, which reduce thechances of socialization and thus sharpen the concern aboutsocialization.

Nevertheless, we can not deny all aspectsabout modern education. Despite socialization, students may benefit much formeducation. For instance, modern education in China, fromwhich students will get cruel training on examination, assists students to formthe spirit of hard-working and to get a well organized knowledge system onMath, Physics and Chemistry as well as basic logical and analytical ability.These above will help students much in job and study.

Moreover, I tend todisprove the statement that socialization determines the destiny ofsociety. As we all know, there are many other factors which affect children'sgrowth and society's future. Consider, the virtues like honesty, loyalty, humanityand many other good qualities may affect a person and a society much. We could cite a great amount of examples that it is thevirtues instead of socialization that changed the world. For example, after theclone of Dolly sheep, imagine that some wild scientists who are eager toexperiment the clone technology on humans, create cloning man regardless ofhumanity, how the world will be? That will lead to a horrible panic,personally. So lucky it is that most scientists obey the moral rules, whichshows that the virtue saved the world.

To sum up, I agree that children'ssocialization is important, and educators need to pay more attention on it.Meanwhile, I do not think today's education a failure, studentsmay benefit much from it. Further more, there is no evidence show that socializationis the dominate factor that determines the future of society.
