69. Government should place few, if any, restrictions on scientific research and development.
I agree with speaker about the assertion that government should place few restrictions on scientific research and development. Everything has its rules you cannot make it better by meddling it especially when you don’t have the thorough perspective about the things, choices always turn out to be wrong. So we should obey scientific rule, and leave it develop in its original ways, and the government should exert few, if any restrictions on scientific research and development.
Government should deal with all kinds of affairs, and spares too little time on scientific study to understand it thoroughly, and government cannot make the really right decisions in science based on the superficial Understanding of it. Science is like the ocean in the earth, too many things left for you to study; meanwhile the breakthroughs made by the scientists are often occasions. Studies from the small things become the treasures to all human beings. No one have the ideas how big influences it will exert on human beings at the beginning like discovering the cells of our bodies. The scientist just found the primary components of the cells at first, but after studying it deep down we find the things we call them DNAs which carry our genetic information. Government doesn’t have the ability to control the possibility of a scientific research and may lead to the lost of our society.
At the same time, science has its own aspects which need to carry out at the same time to develop comprehensively. Take biology for example, the scientists need to study animals, plants, insects and etc at the same time which can present the reaction to one environment totally, and ensure the knowledge of all the things above can they find the answers to the climate change in ancient times and find possible solutions to the current Global Warm. Also the mistake like import the rabbits into Australia will not be made. While different subjects must be used into a project sometimes to achieve the goal, and the restriction should be canceled for the development of such network discoveries. Medicine is the composed of chemistry and biology, it cannot work without either of which. So if there are any restrictions in biology, not only the biology but also the medicine cannot function well. In the same way the government’s restriction may influence the unexpected fields causing lost to the society without attention at first.

But if the government places no restrictions to the scientific researches, some discoveries which have already turned out to wrong will harm the society continuously. So the government should do actions too to ensure the harmonious of the society to some extreme researches as well, researches such as nuclear weapon should be controlled by the government without doubts after knowing the only use of the weapons is to harm the others.
All in all, government should bring about few actions on scientific researches and development, and leave them develop freely. Restricting some extreme researches after it turned out to be bad to the society is enough.
