To construct a global university seems to be a good choice to help human-being to solve the persistent social problems at first glance for its reason that we can use the human intelligence more effective than before. However, with a cogent analysis, the suggestion has lack of feasibility for without concerning the actual situation like the political policies in different countries.

Admittedly, to build a global university to solve the persistent social problems is good. Undoubtedly, these problems, which are more serious than ever before, lead to people must put more and more attention on them. The persistent social problems, such as explosion of population, world widespread of contamination and energy crisis, are unable solved by a particular country. Moreover, the solutions presented by the scholars play a significant role in the process of solving these problems. If the university is built, as the sagacious person in society, the students and faculties will overcome the difference on region, faith, customs and ethic to communicate freely based on the human benefits rather than the individual's and exchange their view on solving the problems . The result of this cooperation, we can make a good use of human intelligence on solving these persistent social problems that always impede the advancement of human sociaty. Therefore, in my opinion, the global university is useful.

However, the speaker's suggestion is unthoughtful and lack of feasibility. First of all, the policies on particular country compromised to solve the global problems always on the premise that there is no influence on his profits. For example, many countries are likely to increase the tax on the factories with heavy population in order to force these factories move abroad to curtail their cost. Unfortunately, when our scholars, even the "global university scholars" confront this problem, the suggestion by them to protect the world widespread population must be accepted by the government to the extent. Second, the limited ability to build a global university on some developing countries is obvious. In these countries, they still fill with famine, frequent epidemic, even the civil war that lead to the whole society in chaos. We all know that if the immediate problems are unable solve by the government, it is impossible that the politician can put the energy on building an effective educational system which the essential on fostering their people to have enough ability to solve the persistent social problems. Hence, the intention of this suggestion is good, but it is many difficulties and without feasibility.

To sum up, the intention of this suggestion to build a global university is good. However, the difference of policies on countries and the limited abilities of the developing ones determine the recommendation will be not come true. But we can solve these persistent social problems by other methods like word widespread negotiation like holding a meeting on Copenhagen last year to solve the problem of global warming and then presenting a series policies and consensus that people should observe rather than to construct the global university alone.
