Such phenomena may be familiar to people fond of history, where researches about historical incidents of all kinds tend to begin with a combination of time, location and people involved in. In this combination, the minorities who triggered the incident are non-coincidentally likely to be emphasized or introduced, which leads to a seemingly reasonable argument: The path of history is never manipulated by a bounch of significant or great individuals, but by the whole society at the time forsaken by the historians for long, making us wonder if the history we are used to reading concerns to much about these prominent ones while ignoring the element of common people?

First of all, I think there maight be certain misunderstanding between the arguer and history researchers. Historians unknowingly, rather than intentionally, lay great stress on minority individuals, as a matter of habits. Consider this scenario of the second World War where Nazi Germany and Adolf Hitler are bound to be seriously discussed. An undeniable truth is that Germans were deceived by Hitler under that very circumstance, being constrained to be the accomplices of the merciless Nazi killing machine, which perfectly explains the reason why historians prefer emphasizing the massive negative impact of Hitler to addressing the significance of ordinary beings, meeting the need of certain historical researches.

Besides, people never observe history divergently, making them yearn for symbols when it comes to the recognition of a specific incident (what symbol can ever be better than its central figure?), which is particularly obvious in literature works, such as the illustrious blockbuster "300". In the movie the Spartan king Leonidas and the Persian king Xerxes are specially created and shaped while the features of the other Spartan worriors and Persian troops are comparatively eclipsed. This intentional practice of the director actually meets the cognitive habits of viewers, which also makes it perfectly reasonable that people recall George Washington when talking about United States War of Independence or Abraham Lincoln when talking about The Liberation of Black Slaves Movement. Thus focusing on the minority has somehow been helping people better understand whatever history tries to tell us.
Even, to say the least of it, it is not proper for us to always concentrate on celebrities in research, a better approach is yet to be found. Human's attention, as is mentioned above, is always convergent, which leads to considerable difficulties to study the whole bounch of groups than to only study symbolic ones. This is a practical problem which is inescapable.
In summary, highlighting the minorities seems to be a advisable procedure which people apply with alacrity, not to mention the fact that these famous few themselves miniature the society of their time.
