Admittedly, technologies have been changing the life of human beings during these centuries, and our society become more and more prosperous. As the common use in people's lives, such as vehicles, making the tourism more convenient than before. Tourists can go to most places of the world without wasting too much time, which is impossible one century ago. Another example is the communication technology, everyone can search information he wants to get fast. Technologies are important motivation of social progress.

Further more, technologies may affect some social customs when they change people's material lives. For example, the advantages of agronomy set great amount of farmers free, which changes such a custom most of persons in the world taking part in the activities of farming several centuries ago. Nowadays, only a few persons are farmers in many wealth countries. Even in China, farmers are beginning to move into cities no longer cultivating recent years. There are also some byproducts along with the technological advantage. According to the predictions made by some experts, many customs will distinct in future for the development of technologies. So technologies will influence social customs obviously.

In addition, humans' ethics may also be influenced by technologies. Just like the commutation technology, which is a hot area, while unfortunately a lot of crimes going with it. Because of the convenience of searching others' personal information, some people begin to consider profiting illicit by this technology. Network bilking and hacking are two aftermaths of this form. Although the originality intention of scientists who research communication technology is not to crime like those above, the technology supply a convenient way to do such things is an undoubted fact. To those people who are dreaming to get numerous wealth no matter in what method, if he finds the way, no one can guarantee he doesn't have the impulse to crime. It's a fact that sometimes technologies may lead to some bad things in one's ethics.

However, technologies can only affect social customs and ethics but they mustn't be the essential decisive factors. The main body of society is human beings, not technologies, and it's human who masters technologies. So the decisive force of social customs and ethics is human beings, too. During the process of forming traditions and moralities, technologies are only the ancillary factors, which could have the function similar to catalyst. So, only human could determine the existence and future trends of social customs and ethics. The cloning technology has generated a debate several years ago. People are afraid of the menace to ethics if the cloning technology is used in human beings. But after some circumstantial has been added, people accept it. This fact can illustrate that people can determine how to apply technology properly, not technology decide how to influence human's ethics.

To sum up, technologies really can change our material lives, even affect social customs and ethics. However, it's a magnifying statement that technologies can decide our social traditions and moralities. Technologies can’t decide social customs and ethics, which are only tools of human beings to prompt the development of society any time.
