Technology is developed rapidly after the Industry Revolution, we can travel to another place one thousand kilometers away by just three and half a hour, we can talk to my parents even we are at opposite places of the earth. Though technologies changed our lifestyle, it will never determine our social customs and ethics. The speaker's assertion is put the cart before the horse.

Admittedly, technologies are truly influence our social customs and ethics. First, we changed our traditional way to communicate or travel. We no longer communicate by writing a letter, instead we send e-mails, or talk on MSN. Just a click, the messages are arrived at anywhere around the world rather than waiting for one week or even several months. In addition, new technology research changed our old opinion that: it is better to get marriage with the one has a kin relative. Biological research indicates that endogamy will lead a much higher possibility to have a hereditary disease. What’s more, we no longer do sacrifice to pray for foison, technology help us yield more food. From these examples we can see that technology help us changed our traditional customs and ethics.

On the other hand, a mass of traditional things are preserved. Festivals, for instance, people around the world during their traditional festivals with in conventional ways. Western country during Easter day also give children Ester eggs and the family can eat together with turkey on the table during Thanksgiving Day. In China, people will back home, eating dumplings and firing crackers when Spring Festivals come. And, when the Dragon boat festival comes, people will eat Zongzi and hold a dragon boat competition like the ancestors do to commemorate Quyuan, the famous poet in ancient China. Thus, it is obvious a plenty of traditions are not changed when the technology advanced.

Further more, technology can never determine our social customs and ethics. We can writing in letters if we want, but it is not facilitate. And we can keep the endogamy opinion although it is not good for human's springs. For example, technology advance made us have the ability to clone a person; however, we can not do this due to the ethic cause. If someday, the ethics let us to clone a person, we will do. The reason that the customs and ethics changed is our mind changed, which will never determined by technology. Technology is determined by us. And the customs and ethics will change only when we want, it is a long time accumulate.

All in all, due to the above mentioned words, technology has influenced our traditions notably, however, social customs and ethics is determined by the subjective will that belong to our human being.
