Itis a grave mistake to theorize before one has data.




This issue is about the sequence of theory and data.I cannot deny the importance of collecting data, but the theory is much moreimportant than data because the theory leads the people to have an interestingin the data.
According to the process ofresearch, only a few people collect the statistics first and then draw aconclusion of the topics in the research center. Therefore, in my opinion, itis a grave mistake to have data before getting the theory. In accordance tohistory, the blueprint of theory stimulates the researcher to go to explore thenew continent to find out the supporting data. Before Darwin went to travelaround the world, he has had the great theory of evolution besides the naturalselection. The motivation of sailing faraway to the ocean is his theory of “Humanbeing and chimpanzees are close relatives.” In the new lands of Australia and Newlands,he tries his best to collect the specimen of all other genres of new animals tosupport his theory. Theory is the light of the essential part of academy, andtheory improves the life of human life. The theory makes people have thecourage to create new inventions, it is like the beacon on the sea helps thecaptain to judge the direction.
