As the rapid development in science and technology nowadays, modernization has becomes one of the most important targets for nations. It seems that there is(are) some conflicts between tradition and modernization, thus, superficially appears incompatible. However, throwing away the tradition due to the modernization signifies the little confidence about their traditions and customs to (a) large extent. From my perspective, tradition and modernization could co-exist completely as long as the government takes the suitable measures.
To begin with, tradition could be considered as the fortune that our past generations left for us. In some sense, it may consist of broad customs and beliefs that is memorized and passed down from generation to generation.
From this point of view, following the traditions shows the respect for our past generations. More importantly, it is a kind of spirits that values our history and a sort of pride to our nationality. For example, celebrating the Christmas is the tradition for Christians that commemorates the birth of Christ. Celebrating the spring festival has been the custom that plays significant role among Chinese people. It is not extremely extravagant that everyone in the world would like to the(去掉) follow the tradition since it indicates where they stems from.
However, with the trend of modernization and globalization developing quickly, some traditions are really vanishing in an unexpected rate. It is said that the languages (or dialects) in the world are declining as the culture exchange and governmental enforcement becomes more and more frequently. And we may easily realize from our daily life that some babies failed to speak their regional accents due to the provision that non-standard language is forbidden in the public areas. Actually, our language and dialects are the most valuable sources inherited from our past generations. In addition, some citizens may prefer the foreign holidays regardless of their own since they are always educated that foreign countries are usually better than ours(themselves’). Up to now, we may see the phenomenon and we should also find out the solutions-----as the modernized constructions developing, we are always seeking for the advancement while neglecting what we had in hand.
As aforementioned above, government is the dominant one that could tackle the so called “incompatible” assertion. As the modernization in process, we cannot leave our valuable tradition alone, namely, the promotion should be strengthened in regard of protecting the traditions. Encouraging people to master two languages (native tone and official language) could be a way that is advantageous to prevent the language vanishing. In addition, the education should also be conducted well among children so that they are confident about their own traditions instead of adoring others’. We may take “Taiwan” as an example, the snacks there are famous unlike the situations in China where government drives away the(去掉the) many vendors in the streets for the sake of modernization. On the contrast, government there has established a series of legal clauses that(to) guarantee the operations of snacks.
In conclusion, the claim that tradition and modernization is incompatible is ridiculous and irresponsible. Basically, the tradition the fortune that our past generations leave for us that(去掉that) is valuable for every citizen and even for every nation.
Although there appears some unfavorable phenomenon nowadays, the government is the main cause. Fortunately, it is also the powerful solution.
总的来看,楼主的这个文章还是很成功的。思路很清晰,例证也恰到好处。只是感觉要是像这样写成一边倒的观点的话,是不是该把政府在其中如何发挥作用说得更详细些? |
