In our daily lives, when we study the history of food, we may find the way to cook more tasty meals; when we study the history of medicine, we may access  some knowledge of living more healthy. But, do we need to learn how Industry  Revolution happened, do we need to know how the United States was builted? Since these hirstory information have nothing to do with our daily lives, the speaker will not doubt say "no,it not necessary to learn these". However, I disagree with it. In fact, the study of history benefit us much more than providing something relevant to our daily lives.


The most valuable thing concealed in history is the precious experience and lessons of humankind. Knowing how we make a mistake in the past will prevent us from taking the mistake again in certain situation. For example, after living through the terribly cruelty of war in the two World Wars, many people realizes that only in a peaceful world, we human can develop a prosperous and live a happy life, and in today's world, high power weapons are strictly restrained to use in any battle. Another example comes from China, after being invaded by many western countries in the 19th and early 20th century, all its people are taught that anyone poor is going to be bullied by others and only being open up to the world rather than closing the country to the international intercourse can keep a nation lasting prosperous. It is the reason history keeps we from the same disaster made by people that today we oppose the Japan government's denying its aggression to China in 1930s. We must keep us impressed about the miserable experience in the past since "history is a mirror".


Leanring of history help us identity ourselves who we are and  tell us where we are from.For example, after learning the history of England, a Englishman know  how his ancestors built his county and what features make the English different from that of other countries, so that he can maintenance these features and develop them. If a Frenchman don't know the this country's traditions such as   its people love romantic life and tend to be in smart clothes, he will be fully discriminated by the main society. And the tradition are inevitably correlated with histor. Thus, some common knowledge about one's own nation is indispensable for integrating into society. Moreover,as a whole, we human kind only after learning the Darwin's theory of evolution----the history of humankind as a species----we really get a clear position in the nature and shape the more correct relationship with other species.


In addition, history leaves many spirit legacy for us. These spirits have much more positive influences of our inner world rather than our daily lives. We could take Einstein as an example, he not only brought immense development in scientific field, but also gave us a confidence and encouragement to build a peaceful and wonderful society. In China, the Long March in 1930s, which is globally famous, always is a case used to teach children that in the way of reaching a goal, any difficulty can be overcome.


TO sum up, to study history, we should not just are whether it is relevant to our daily lives, virtually, it play a much more important role in many other fields. It not only teach us many lessons but also shape our society and our spiritual world.
