TOPIC: ISSUE51 - "Education will be truly effective only when it is specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student."
WORDS:        TIME: 00:45:00          DATE: 2010-3-21 16:22:11

Do you still remember tha day when you sit down in a classrom, where the teacher talked someting you feel so boring that you can't compel yourself to cathch a single word?  Do you still remember once a time, the teacher ignored your question which you were curious about since it is not relevant to the courses designed to all of us? Most of us may find that, the traditional education way that a instructor gives the same courses to a group of students altogether is inreasingly difficult to meet the requrement of today's talents. To sove this problem, as the speaker says, designing the education to meet the individuals needs and interests of each student will be an effective way.

Since evey individual has his or her own forte, when we teach a student according to the forte, a single one are able to fully develop what he or she is good at.  For example, some students are born to good at math, but some others are gifted in arts. If we can earlier introduce more mathmatic knowledge to those who are good at math, they can ealier go to their own field and give out their values. On the contray, if we teach these students instead of arts, not only themselves would be confused but also the education resources were going to be wasted. In fact, only when a people find what field the are really talented in, they find their life more interesting and more confident. As we know  there is a story about Newton, when he was little age in the school he invented a small windmill, but his teacher and classmante scoffed at his work like this. However, it is these special skills help he in the way finding the greatest theory in the physical realm. Our shcools should empasise these strong points of each student, but the traditional education way can hardly do this.

In addition, as the saying goes, "the interests is the best teacher", when we design our education to meet the individual interests, students will be more active in learning and as a result studing more effectively. For example, a student who are deeply interested in wiriting a novole, he will pay all his attention to the courses of skilsl in writing but possibly think others courses boring and useless. If our instructors could take advantages of these interests of students, the sudents will be more satisfactory for learning what the really want as well the edcation could be more successful. We could take  Edison as a example how cecessary it is for the shcool to pay attention to the interests of students. When he studied in school, all the teachers disliked him for he always asked some strange questions and finally dismissed him from school. But later years, relying on the interests in invention which was ingored by his school, he became one of the greates inventors in the world. Thus, our education can never put too much emphasise on interests of students.

Finally, in a wrold more and creativity are needed today, fully develop the character of individuals through our education is important. In China, millions of students are taught with the same courses past years, just for the purpose of getting through the College Etrance Exam. Although these students study so hard that they have no holidays over years, they fail to creat most tied sicence and technology, which was presented by the situation that the Nobel Prize never comes to China. On the contray, A moe flexible ecucation which pays more attention to the individuals in the United States leads to that very year, it is almost the Amerca's bash when the Nobel Prizes is published.

Admittly, some basical vaules of human, which is indispensible to build a happy and harmony world, are needed to be indoctrinated into the students, even if they have no intersts in them at all. But except this, in my view, ducation meeting individuals' needs and interests will work much more effectively.

To sum up, individuals' education could help fully develop a person as well better serve today's society as well for many reasons.Although it may be hard for us immediatly adopt this way since it costs much money and mental resouces, but make our education really impactful, we will try to fullfill it step by step.
