TOPIC: ISSUE51 - "Education will be truly effective only when it is specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student."
Education plays an indispensable role on the stage of modern society which developing rapidly for a long time. Current concerns commonly accompanied controversial arguments. The speaker asserts that the only effective approach for education is to emphases to meet the individual needs and interest of each student. However, beside the goals mentioned above, there are many other objectives for education to achieve in order to turn out to be more effective
At the beginning of this article, I would like to define the meaning of "effective education". In my point of view, education which manage to the decisive effect should obtain not only a qualification of infuse knowledge and technique into the brain of students, but also the fulfilled guidance in moral and ethics level, and the ability of socialization.
According to the conception above, interest and the requirements of individual are proved to be a crucial factor of effective education. Such kind of education can give impetus to students for the purpose of encouraging them study hard; a case to this point is the Michael Faraday who discovered the great electromagnetic induction law. When he worked as an apprentice, he appetite the knowledge about magnitude that latter become the tremendous achievement of his life, for the simple reason that he was fascinated by this mysteries realm although he even has not been to primary school. Moreover, interest is also the doctrine for students to overcome the obstacle lying before them. A student who treats problems as interesting puzzles will accept them subconsciously as a part of his life, and the procedure of dealing with these problems will turn to be a more enjoyable process.
However, there are more requirements for the education nowadays. First, to meet the individual interest merely is not enough for students who want to survive in this competitive society in which broader view is needed. A system of education dominated by such rationale would not cultivate suitable talented men with perspective and sharp insight for this developing world effectively. The ultimate result of this system should be a man with narrow view of his own interest who can not collaborate with someone from another area which he never contacted. Those masters such like Leonardo de Vinci who is proficient in mathematic, architecture, sculpture apply the knowledge of other discipline to painting.
Moreover, another target of effective education should be rose to the level of moral and ethics. To construct the outlook of life, world, value, and moral is considered to be more significant to shape the correct character of students. If the education only designed to cater to their needs and interests, regardless of the establishment of the psychology, and the sustainment that individuals seize to firm their conviction, it cannot be called effective. A common student with healthy psychology is more valuable to society than a gifted one who holds the idea of anti-society. As Albert Einstein once said:” the idea which have lighted my way, and time after time have give me new courage to face life cheerfully , have been kindness, beauty and truth. ”this illustrates the point that it is the morality and ethics which treated to be the essence for an affirmative attitude of life.
In conclusion, I partly embrace the idea of meeting the individual needs and interests of students will be an effective education. Nevertheless, to satisfy the concern and requirement of each student merely is proved to be shortsighted for the development of the society as a whole. Perspective and psychology education should be elevated to a higher height for the purpose of all-round improvement.
