拿到Offer 和Assistantship,但由于申请时写了要带老婆一起过去，所以学校说给的钱还不够Cover所有的费用，需要开证明材料。具体描述如下：

Difference you will need to show $3,579 per year for 5 years.

You will need to have your sponsor sign a promise of support stating that they are sponsoring you for this amount of money per year for 5 years.  Plus a copy of their bank statement.  Their bank statement will need to have one year of money in the bank.  They may fax this information if they prefer.  Our fax number is listed below in our signature line. If you will be sponsoring yourself, you would need to have the total for 5 years in the bank, for a total of $17,895.

１。如果我自己拿钱资助的话，怎么开证明啊？是不是只要存足他说的金额就可以了呢？
２。存钱的话存什么样的类型呢？需要存定期五年吗？那我在美国不就不能花了吗？

还请多多指教。学校要等我的证明才给我I20呢，真是晕啊！

我觉得不是存5年定期的存款，而是银行里面有5年的钱。

到银行开资产证明就可以了，银行有模板不用你自己费心的。

嗯，会的，只有冻了才能出证明的。一般F1签证都是冻结3个月以上就可以了。
