The speaker tends to assert that all countries should support a global university that just designs for resolve the long lasting social problems by students. This assertion could be broken into several different parts base my understanding. 1) Where these long lasting problems come from and why they are so hard to be fixed. 2) With the similar organizations – United Nations and WTO– already exist and the limitations of each are so patent, could the global university students find more feasible solution for social problem.



The long lasting social problems indeed baffle almost all members of the society all the times, and those issues have some many similarities and even identical across different countries, regions, races and culture levels. Why? Base on the study of anthropologist, the pattern of behavior and feelings inside of us, such as happiness, sadness, greediness, hatred, fear etc. are the outcome of the evolvement, all which just like our eyes, nose, and mouth with us. Many of these feelings, greediness and hatred, are the root causes of the social problems. Even we still have limited knowledge about the gene expression, the biologist already indicate human behaviors have the features of heredity. Thus, in short term, it’s hard to diminish such darkness sides of the human nature. Thus, the social problems will go with us for very long run.




On the other hand, our world already has powerful organizations, such as United Nations and WTO that plays more and more important roles within international affairs and multilateral trade, and supported well by most of the countries. As the internationalization is the inevitable trend since last century, the interest network also became more complex than ever before. Now, even the UN and WTO still cannot satisfy all interest groups. Since worldwide economic crisis start from 2007, many counties tend to protect local industries and workers, encourage consumers to buy domestic products, though all governors are crystal clear about actions like those could not effective for long run. Such problem is really hard to balance, even for institutions at international level. if we let each country support university to fix social problems, the final effects could not better than other authority organizations, due to the students still do not have enough experiences and knowledge to face such problems.

看到楼主给我的回贴，于是进来学习一下

第一个分论点我个人不是太同意，可能我对社会问题的理解和楼主不太一样，觉得你主要在说一些人的本性问题，比如利益驱动造成的冲突啦，或者形成遗留的弊端啦，是不是这样？但我感觉把社会问题全都归结在人性上也有点片面，其实很多社会问题是在社会发展的进程中必然会出现的，比如城市化问题，能源短缺的问题等等。所以你说好多问题一时解决不了这我也认可，但如果建这个大学能解决另一部分问题，是不是也有建立的价值？

第二个分论点我很同意，有一种“那么多比你牛的人都没干好你一小P孩就能干好啦”的吐槽感XD
