Nowadays, there is a controversy about the effect of technology to the social customs and ethics. Someone willy-nilly assigns a determination relationship between them. I concede that technology has played a very important role in the performance of custom and ethics. However, there still so many factors which also influence the custom and ethics that we could not unfairly restrain the determination of customs and ethnics in such a narrow range.

Admittedly, technology seriousely impacts on the standard and span of the customs and ethnics in our society. For example, with the development of the technology, some traditional life style has changed. For Chinese people, they have taken place of the old pattern garments such as Qinpao into the modern fashions. In the western world, people are prone to live in some modern archtectures instead of some old archtechtures, such as Barioque style, Gothic Style and Bezantin style architectures. Moreover, in the ethnic area, some moral standard and characteristics have changed by the new developed technology. There are more controversy about moral of clone technique, abortion and nuclear weapons which are all the consequence of the technology development.

Nevertheless, some meritous and valuable tradition and moral standards have not changed with the technology development.
For instance, some common and basic moral and ethic standard remain performing in a general way in our modern sciety as time went by. People's condemn attitude toward robbing, stolen and murder have not changed. Similarly, some trditional customs such as Christmas and Spring Festival are always holden in our societies. All these instances reveal that our social customs and ethnics could not purely effected by the technology.

What's more, there are large amount of actors other than technology which also influence the social customs and ethics. The first one is the closer communication between different countries which is not totally effected by the technology.
As the more intimate contigence of different countries develops, the values and ideas of countries are more influenced by other countries. For example. nowadays, more and more eastern countries prefer to celerbrite some western festivals such as Christmas, Valenter's Day and Thanks Giving Day. All these new changes in their societies is the outcome of the communication between different cultures rather than the technology.

In sum, in despite of the essential influence of the technology to the social scustoms and ethnics, there are also other important factors which also play impact on the formulation, development or disappearance of social customs and ethics. Therefore, we could not draw any conclusion of the determination of tecnology to the social customs and ethnics. The other influence aspacts such as culture communication between different countries should also be taken into coonsideration.
