I have just got this email from APS member email list. I guess this is a excellent chance for people interested in PhD study in Cardiovascular sciences with full assistantship. I personally guss this assistant prof just got her funding setted and wants someone to spend it out, ^_^

As this is advertised on the whole American Physiology Society email list, there should be a number of applicants and the spot will be filled soon. But at this time, it could still be a chance to get admitted in Fall semester, so worth a try for people interested in cardiovascular field in a good U. So forward it to you guys.

Graduate Research Assistantship in Angiogenesis Research

       A National Institutes of Health-supported Graduate Research Assistantship (PhD degree program) is available in the lab of Dr. Pamela Lloyd in the Department of Physiological Sciences at Oklahoma State University (Stillwater, OK) to study mechanisms of blood vessel growth. This position is available starting either fall 2010 or spring 2011. Our lab is investigating mechanisms regulating the expression of a key VEGF-family protein, placenta growth factor (PLGF), in vascular smooth muscle cells and endothelial cells. This research will utilize several model systems, including an in vitro model of shear stress, isolated perfused microvessels, and in vivo models of diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
