这个主题好没感觉~~~~需要多想想

After some analysis, the arguer makes an appeal that they Green Thumb Gardening Center can increase their profits by greatly expanding the variety of vegetable seeds they stock for gardeners this coming spring for consumers are becoming more and more interested in growing their own vegetables. That deduction mainly based on two independent causes, a national survey and a local fact about a gardening magazine has sold out. Sound as the statement seems, flaws lie in the deduction.

First of all, a national survey cannot be used as a tool to certify that local people were dissatisfied with the quality of fresh vegetables available in local supermarkets. As we all known, national survey can only show the average of what people want coming from all over the country. Such a wide survey cannot use directly to a certain place without indicating if the local situation is just the same as the average of the country. What about the differences between regions? Do people living in villages or towns get vegetables of the same quality with people living in cities? They get distinctive services which cannot be ignored. Then does that statement count the special situation that people there are themselves vegetable farmers and seldom buy vegetables. Thus that survey does nothing to their attitude towards vegetables in supermarkets. So, that is to say, the national survey should be tested with local situation before we use it as a proof.

What is more, the local phenomenon that the gardening magazine Great Gardens has sold out at the Village News stand three months in a row cannot prove that people are willing to grow vegetables themselves. We merely know nothing about the magazine mentioned. More tellingly, the fact about its distribution has not been informed yet. Whether only a small number of that magazine is sold there remains unknown. If so, that statistic means nothing for it is always out of stock. To sum up, it is not wise to come to that conclusion so hasty.

Even if those two proofs are reliable, we cannot trust that expand the variety of vegetable seeds they stock for gardeners this coming spring is a good way to increase their profits. Chasing after more profits, broadly considered as one of the most difficult thing in business, is degraded to such a dangerous point where it runs the risk of driving the problem into a dead end. In other words, the statement puts too much emphasis in the variety of vegetable seeds and overlooks other also significant things, like price, cost, quality, quantity, and so on. They should know whether the situation that profits this year which should be improved is the direct result of not having enough kind of seeds. Other factors should be taken into consideration. Is that brand advertising well? Is the price too much? Are the seeds of bad quality? Are they out of stock too soon? The arguer is too naive to only increase profits by adding vegetable variety?

All in all, based on two groundless surveys, then misled by a mixed logic, the statement should be questioned. More research about that question should be done. There is still way to go.

Merely based on a national survey indicating that many consumers were dissatisfied with the quality of fresh vegetables available in supermarkets and a local sale situation of the gardening magazine Great Gardens at the Village News stand, the arguer makes a hasty predication that Green Thumb Gerdening Center can increase profits by providing various vegetable seeds this coming spring, which turn out to be unconvincing.

First of all, the national survey conducted last month is hardly sutiable the situation in a suburban town where Green Thumb Gerdening Center located. As we all know, there is distinctive difference between large cities and suburban towns, so it highly possible the situation that many consumers were dissatisfied with the quality of fresh vegetables available in supermarkets has not occurred in the suburban town. Also, the national situation is an average and normal phenomena, which cannot totally demonstrate particular attitudes of customers in a suburban town where Green Thumb Gerdening Center located. Without taking these information into consideration, the argument seems implausible.

Furthermore, another deficient evidence presented in the memo is that the gardening magazine Great Gardens has sold out at the Village News stand three months in a row barely sufficient to argue that local people has an enthusiasm in cultivating vegetable by themselves. There are so many other reasons contributing to the heated sales situation of the gardening magazine Great Gardens at the Village News stand, such as people are interested in flower culture or they just admire beautiful plants printed in the magazine. Moreover,  the gardening magazine Great Gardens at the Village News stand at most reflect local people's passion on gardening rather than vegetable planting. Hence, this other part in the argument should be cast doubt on.

In addition, even though assuming it is believable that a trend of vegetable planting in the suburban town where Green Thumb Gerdening Center located, as the arguer asserts, we cannot draw a conclusion that Green Thumb Gerdening Center can increase profits by providing various vegetable seeds this coming spring. Because profits is a matter of costs and product sales, the arguer only focus on the potential product sales but ignoring the possibilities of extra costs. If storing a variety of vegetable seeds desires a special designed equipment or professional employee with relevant expertise, the cost may rise to a point surpassing the products sales. In that case, the center at a risk of making less money. Without completely analyzing the factors associating with profits, the arguer makes a false predication.

In conclusion, based on the questions above, the two evidence provided by the arguer are neither suspicious nor unreliable to draw a conclusion in the suburban town. What's worse, the predication is unwarranted due to neglecting other factors determining profits of Green Thumb Gardening Center.

And locally, the gardening magazine Great Gardens has sold out at the Village News stand three months in a row.   The memo is well-presented but not well-reasoned, there several logical fallacies in the memo, make the memo quite questionable, reasons are as followed:
first of all, the national survey cannot illustrate the consumers are becoming more and more interesting in growing their own vegetables because the survey just points out that consumers were dissatisfied with the quality of fresh vegetables available in supermarkets, however, this cannot illustrate that consumers will not buy vegetables from supermarkets, even consumers will not buy vegetables they need from supermarkets, there may be other ways consumer can buy vegetables from, but not grow vegetables themselves. For example, they can buy vegetable from market, or from badger. So just from the survey that consumers were dissatisfied with the quality of fresh vegetables cannot get the conclusion that consumers will plant vegetables themselves.
Moreover, the gardening magazine Great Gardens has sold out at the Village News stand three months in a row also cannot support the assertion that consumers are become more and more interested in growing vegetable themselves. For the reason that the phenomenon just appeared in the Village New, but not appeared at other area, therefore, the phenomenon may be caused by other reasons but not the consumers’ favor to grow vegetables. For instance: the phenomenon may be caused by the lack of book stores in Village News or else reasons.
What is more, even consumers are indeed more interested in growing vegetables nationally; the vegetable seeds that will be sold in Green Thumb Gardening center may not increase, for these consumers can buy seeds from other way and other place except from the Green Thumb Gardening center, as they can by seeds on internet or from other companies.
In conclusion, in the memo, the author failed to provide enough support and illustration to support his assertions and his conclusion.
