All the fortune that human beings owned are created and discovered by human themselves. In the duration of human evolvement, innovation happened frequently and changed aspects of human society. However, beside the concentration of those innovations, we should also focus on their spiritual source and on those who inspired it. The impetus for innovation, in personal perspective, is probably a combination of individual effort and team collaboration.
Actually this topic depends on the definition of individual efforts and team collaboration. There is no absolutely individual effort because most of who contribute to human society are educated and authorized to be competent. Thus, the team work of education and authorization is inevitable to one’s success in innovation. Most Nobel Prize winner is graduated from famous college and serves famous laboratory. Their success today should be partly attributed to their college and colleague. Wright Brothers who realized the dream of fly could be a typical example for such case. We could recognize that a impressive innovation is mostly the effort of a team, of an educated individual, whose ability is discovered by certain cooperation.
On the other hand, individual is also significant for innovation. A team should have a pilot who organizing and setting the goals. The pilot, hence, in charge of the case feels more responsible and thus sacrifices more to their goals. In some loose team work, the pilot may not be accountable, so the one who feels most responsible usually became the key, the spiritual source and the impetus for their goal, including a successful innovation. Einstein introduced Relativity thanks to Newton and thousands of physicists who supplied basic methods of physic research. The individual could be likened as a trigger, and the team as the pistol. One can never fire the aim without any of the two, and a good collaboration is necessary to fire the pistol but never sufficient to reach the target.
