Firstly, I cannot simply rely on the statistics in the passage because of some incompleteness or inaccuracy. It is obvious that the sample size is unknown to us so that the statistics may be unreliable. It is entirely possible that the sample size is so small that the patients taking part in the experiment cannot represent the majorities. For example, perhaps the patients in the first group have a relatively better health condition than those of the second group. If so, the author's recommendation might amount to poor advice for the other patients.(你开始批的是调查的样本大小,可举例子却是两组人的差别。)

In this argument, the author is trying to persuade us to believe that taking antibiotics should be a part of the treatment of some patients. To bolster the point, the author point out that the patients who are treated for muscle injuries by a doctor specializing sports medicine recovers (recover)quicker than ever by taking (加 no)antibiotics. The author also claims that those who are treated by a general physician without taking antibiotics do not have a shorter recuperation time. Though his arguments seem sound enough to support his standpoint, we can still find some problems which cast doubt on his perspective.

If so, the author's recommendation might amount to poor advice for the other patients.

Secondly, even if the sample size is large enough, the experiment method still have some unsound problems. From the passage we can know that the patients in the first group are treated by a specialist in sports medicine while those in the second group are taking(taken) care of by a general physician. Thus, we have enough reason to doubt that maybe Dr. Newland, the specialist, can give much better treatment or other reasonable advice to the patients than Dr. Alton, the generalist. What's more, it is still ambiguous that whether the patients in the second group have the same muscle strain problem as those in the first group? Let alone that the extend of injuries may be quite different.(最后这个论点在第二段中已经提过了)
Thirdly, even if the antibiotics make positive effect to the patients in the experiment, it is too early to claim that the patients who suffer from muscle strain should take antibiotics. The health condition varies from person to person, which means some people may recover quicker than usual while others may get positive effect by taking antibiotics. As a result, it is unreliable or even dangerous to suggest all the patients to take antibiotics to treat muscle strain.(这一段还是再强调个体差异,与第一段的论点有点相似)

In sum, the recommendation relies on certain doubtful assumptions that render it unconvincing as it stands. To bolster the recommendation, the author should give many more specific details to convince his theory. On the one hand, the author should get a quite large sample size to take the experiment; while on the other hand, the treatments should be exactly the same (加上 except the special treatment with antibodies)in two groups. In addition, it is also necessary to prove that other patients are suitable enough to take antibiotics as part of their treatment.
