The passage is well-organized; however, I'm sorry to say that it is not well-reasoned. According to the chairperson, we can know that in order to attracting better teachers and improving the faculty's morale, Pierce University should offer jobs to the teachers' spouse. To support this idea, the chairperson reasons that studies conducted by Bronston College showed that professors will be content if their spouse are working in the same small town, and if only jobs are offered to their spouses, new professors will surely accept the offer. Unfortunately, this argument contains several logical fallacies which render it unconvincing as it stands.

The threshold problem with the argument involves a false analogy between the condition of Bronston College and that of Pierce University. The chairperson must assume that all relevant circumstances involving the two schools are essentially the same. However, this assumption is not substantiated. It is entirely possible that Pierce University is located in a metropolitan whose surrounding environment is quite different from that of a small town, or Bronston College owns a much better reputation that a lot of professors are willing to work in the college. Therefore, offering jobs to professors’ spouse may not help Pierce University to attract more gifted teachers.(题目中说的是Bronston college is also located in a small town)
Another problem is that no evidence can convince that giving job offersto professors' spouse will make them content. Even if the professors will be happier in Pierce University if their spouses are working in the same area, we cannot make the decision that the professors will accept the job offers without any complaint. The chairperson assumes that the teachers in Bronston College are content with living in the small town simply because Bronston College provides enough job offers to their spouse. However, it is quite possible that the teachers in Bronston College are happier simply because their spouses can get a quite high salary(get high salaries) or have a much better working condition(have better working conditions). As a result, if what Pierce University does is just to offer jobs, the professor may not happy because these jobs cannot meet up with their standards.

What is also questionable is that attracting most gifted teachers does not equal to improving the morale of the entire staff. Even if the chairperson can support the idea that the professors will be content if their spouses get a job here, no evidence can bolster the idea the morale can be improved. On the contrary, it is quite possible that the morale may be even decreased in that too many talented teachers working in the university leads to too much pressure in competition. A lot of teachers may worry about their job(jobs) and have a low mood(have low mood). If so, offering jobs to professors' spouse may result in bad consequences.

In sum, the passage is not well supported. To better strengthen the idea, the author still needs to provide the following reasons. Firstly, the relevant circumstances are exactly the same between two schools. Secondly, the professors will be happy simply because their spouse can get a job here. And finally, attracting more teachers can help improve the morale of the entire staff. Unless all these assumptions are reasoned clearly, I cannot believe that the chairperson's suggestion is a good idea.
