1 英雄之所以能成为英雄，是因为他们能被社会认可，能反映社会的一部分特点，有悖社会认可的品质
2不过，有些英雄是比较独特的，有些罕见的特点，甚至是不存在的，并不能反映社会的特点
3英雄只是社会的一小部分，并不能反映出社会的所有特点。而且有些所谓的英雄是一种理想状态，不能存在与现实社会，也更不能反应出社会的特点。

1.英雄可以反映一个社会大的价值取向，比如中国在文革时代的英雄雷锋代表了当时对无私奉献精神的崇拜，而现在中国人心中的英雄如李开复，陈天桥等等反映了现在社会的拜金主义。
2.但是有些社会特点并不会反映在英雄身上，比如老百姓的生活习惯，民间艺术，大众的政治观点等等。

Is it the optimal choice to understand the character of society through examining the characters of heroes or heroines, as the speaker asserts? I concede that there are some celebrated people who represent certain characters of society. However, in my opinion, social character mostly has little to do with characters of heroes or heroines chosen by society
To some extent, heroes on the one the hand reflects the social values and beliefs,like some heroes reflect the values of the country.In the first place, such luminaries as India’s Mahatma Gandhi,South Africa’s Nelson Mandela come immediately to our minds.They struggle for their own country’s freedom.This unique brand of heroes does reflect the characters of the hero’s society.
However,heroes is just one part of society,they can not represent each individual and hardly to represent all the characters of the entire society. The chief reason I fundamentally disagree with the assertion has to do with the relationship between hero-like characters and social characters.As many people think that the hero or the heroine are just serve as the idealistic paradigm of the society. In most cases, the characters of society are limitedly associated with characters of heroes or heroines, especially in the fields of entertainment and athletics.  For example, Kobe Bryant, the famous athlete as the hero for a huge number of basketball fans, is burdened with many scandals which adversely affect his public image a lot. In the same way, such as David Beckham, Jacky Chen, and so forth, plenty of movie stars and sports stars are celebrated for their expertise without association with social characters. Therefore, there is no strikingly combination between characters of society and hero-like characters.
On the other hand, we usually put our attentions purely on interesting bents, special skills, or abstruse intellect of characters of heroes or heroines. Understandably, it is specific expertise that we concern mostly. Seldom do we focus on so-call heroes’ or heroines’ social characters, as various types of heroes or heroines are experts in certain regions which are relevant to our attentions and interests. According to my observation, most of star fans purely concentrate on expertise instead of performance .in society.
Admittedly, learning something about those famous few can more or less help to recognize some respects of the society.If we need to know the character of a society,that should be based on the overall situation of the community to analyze the characteristics of the community
